Hes obviously not a replacement FOR Lebron (who didnt play tonight) but he is a good compliment TO Lebron.

I honestly dont remember people significantly overrating him except to say his contract was much more team friendly than what some other guys got, which is true, but it seems theres a lot of people who deeply resent him for some reason.

Reeves has more ambition and fame than he has ability.
He has a nice shifty handle and good veering body control,
Good deceleration and good one legged decel floaters.
But not enough athleticism or strength to do ALL of what he wants to do in the paint, unless he is strictly decel floaters, or unless he can use the goal itself to prevent rim protection from reminding him who he really is.

Funny...the biggest fool around here is OP.

Reaves is again a top 10 all star vote getter for West backcourt. And OP's hero can't even carry this guy out of the lottery bracket.

Do you think Reaves is one of the 10 best guards in the western conference?

He's averaging 18/6/5 per 36 with a TS of 61%. What exactly were you expecting? Did you think he would be in the MVP race?

:facepalm

Well to be fair every single one of them does always suck.

The hype came from the potential offers many were speculating during the off season. Some said he'd get potentially up to a $120m contract. But for what he's getting paid now he appears to be a great ROI for what he's able to do on the court.

He's up there. The top 9 vote getters are better than him:

Luka
Curry
SGA
Harden
Irving
Edwards
Fox
Morant
Booker

So let's say he's competing for the #10 spot. There are some other players who have a case over him, but it's a lot closer than people like OP would lead you to believe.

I'd probably say D'Lo Russell deserves it more, but again, it's pretty close. I'd also give the nod to Desmond Bane and Jamal Murray. Who else would you put above him? Klay? Van Fleet? McCollum?

Top 10 guard in the West is a little much, but he's comfortably top 15. He can create his own shot, he's great in the clutch, he can shoot, and he's averaging 15 a game....not bad for the team's 4th scoring option.

Everyone is focusing on Reaves offense.

He is "kind of" fools gold because he is atrocious on defense, and he CANNOT be played at the same time that D-Lo is played.

Very solid 4th option on offense, but he honestly "gives up" on defense as much as he gives up on offense. The Lakers should definitely keep him around with that contract however. He also won't be afraid of the moment which is exactly what you want in your role players.

I mean he's paid like $13M. He's doing ok for that contract.

Consistency and better defense. Not trying to be the man so often and awkwardly trying to dribble in a flashy manner only to get off balance and loose the ball (it's obviously good when gets one of those cross over highlights but whatever). He has the heart and smarts but not the strength or athletic ability some of these other guys have.

I didn't expect him to be an All-Star but I also didn't expect him to ever really be an issue on the floor for the Lakers.

When LeBrother’sKeeper is on the floor to keep him in check it works. Otherwise it’s a shit show.

That has always been LeKing’s cross to bear.
