In the playoff dominating the Bucks and Celtics. And then dominating Nuggets in the Finals en route to finals MVP.
Where would you rank him then?

Been thinking that he might have a Hakeem run soon. Injuries have played a big part in his subpar playoff performances.

Above MJ, behind Lebron.

Two-time MVP, with an FMVP and championship. Very strong two-way on-court impact. He'd be somewhere in that top 25 I think. Probably 15-25. But it's largely just a crapshoot.

Shaq started winning in his 8th season.
This is Embiid's 8th season.

If he does win it all he will redeem himself in the eyes of many but he won't get to top 15 territory all of a sudden. It will be a big boost though. Dirk-ish. So for me somewhere in the vicinity of Dirk
Here are two other scenarios that are more likely though: WCF or Finals only, no ring is one. To me it's not that much worse than winning it all when I'm trying to find his place all time. Boston will be very hard to beat and if the 76ers don't succeed that's not necessarily a failure this year. Another 2nd round exit though as the other scenario (or even worse: 1st round exit) would seriously hurt him. He has the team and the coach to get to at least the ECF. If it isn't happening I doubt Embiid will recover from that.

Top 15 straight away.

IF he does that he's easily top 30 all-time.

You need to drop someone out of the top 15 to be able to do that. So who are you dropping? In no particular order, here are a few names: Magic, Bird, Jordan, Shaq, Hakeem, Duncan, Kobe, Wilt, Russell, LeBron, Kareem, Curry, Oscar, K. Malone, M. Malone, Erving, Durant, Barkley, West... it's more than 15. it's 19. So you need to pick 5 guys you think Embiid is greater than if he wins a ring. Which 5?

It would mean a lot. Pretty much instantly put in the top 30 all time and in a position to climb much higher very quickly.

He would put himself in the conversation of best player from his era.
Right now the only names are Giannis and Jokic.

Not saying he'll surpass all of them but with 2 MVPs and a finals MVP title, that'd be more than Barkley, K Malone, Oscar, Dr J, West. Then you have Durant who have 1 MVP 2 titles but those titles aren't respected.

Embiid will get the MVP again.
And he will get knocked out in the second round by a revitalized Bucks squad with BOTH Doc Rivers and Terry Stots coaching

I'd say if he (Embiid) plays another 2-3 years at this level AND he gets to 2 MVPS and 1 FMVP he can be in a discussion for top 20 and maybe top 15. I doubt it will have happened by June 2024 though even if the accolades are there. We just had too many good players in the past and Embiid simply hasn't played enough. Not enough seasons and certainly not enough games. He "could've done this and that had he not been injured" is not enough to become a top 15 player in my eyes. Does he have the talent to be in the same conversation? He sure does. And he still has time. But I won't just put him there overnight even if he wins it this year. And that's a big if because his competition is greater now than it has been in some of the seasons in the past.
Jokic does have the 2 MVPs plus 1 FMVP. Is he top 15 all time? I don't think so.
If Jokic had won the MVP last year (he did deserve to win it) would you have him in the top 10? 3 MVPS, 1 FMVP and many records broken with a historic playoff run. As for me, even though I like Jokic a lot, wouldn't have him in the top 10 now even with another MVP (be it last year's or this year's). I think body of work is important here. Both these guys are under 30 and have at least half their careers ahead of them. So I'm not giving them top 15 or top 10 considerations just yet. (But if it goes the other way round and it is Jokic with 3 MVPs and 2 FMVPs I'd definitely have him top 15. That's a lot of stuff.)
All time lists don't necessarily reflect sheer ability to play. You need some luck and a long career as well.

What would it take for him to not win it again? If he doesn't reach the 65 game limit he is automatically out. But let's say he does and finishes with 67 games. Which is the scenario he doesn't get MVP again? Because at this moment he is leading via one thing: most ppg. That is it. If you take a look at everything else, he shouldn't win. However, his ppg will not drop (much). So what do you think?

Which is the scenario he doesn't get MVP again?I don’t think he had much margin left to miss, maybe another 6-7 games missed and he won’t qualify IIRC.
So … all it would take is a rolled ankle :facepalm.

Stotts? You mean Joerger?
This is significant as Doc is already picking valuable assistants PRIOR to officially signing.

Embiid got bounced out the playoffs last year shooting 42% FG and 20% from 3. Maybe he can turn it around but he's been awful in the playoffs for pretty much his entire career. Good luck running a Celtics / Bucks / Nuggets or Suns gauntlet.

It would be a Giannis level run I suppose. So top 20-30 I guess?

At this point, I don't even care if he wins a title, I just want to see him FINALLY carry over his regular season level of play to the playoffs. He loses in the 2nd round playing like this, I wouldn't knock him for it.

Same. I really want him to drop a ridiculous run; something like 35+ ppg with some big clutch moments.

It's subjective. Some people think Kobe is top 5, some don't have him top 10. Some don't even have him top 15.
Also, Jokic with 3 MVP & 1 title haven't topped the accolades of people in the top 10. At most that equaled Moses Malone.
