Any predictions?
All I have to say is if this game goes as the last one Embiid will have had the MVP all but locked up by tomorrow if he can play enough games. Jokic still has a chance but Denver must win this one for that chance to stay alive. Also, I think both teams need HCA but Denver needs it more. The team still has a chance to have the best record in the West. Boston will most likely win the East but it is important for Philly to come on 2nd and avoid the Celtics in the 1st two rounds.
So pretty big stakes tonight.

For the Wizards i would prefer Nikola Topic. Gotta watch out for those white boys named Nikola.

The Sixers are pretty banged up, a lot of the roster is out or questionable so I guess they will be playing short handed again.
The good thing about that is Joel will have to play big minutes.

I hope the Nuggets win. Jokic had an eye injury and I don't know it it will affect him and if so how much. Things would be more interesting if Denver won. Especially if these teams could meet in June. It will be very hard for both. Philly's road may seem tougher at first but surviving the West this year will be very tough. Let's hop no one gets injured today and let it be a competitive game decided in the last 2 minutes with both stars doing well.

Who could have predicted this? He's ducked Joker in Denver now for four years straight. I'm absolutely positive he was begging the medical staff to play, but they just wouldn't let him...
ABC must be absolutely thrilled about this. No Embiid, no Maxey, no Harris. It's a good thing that the anti-load management measures are working so well.

I think he will find a way to play in 65 or 66. :oldlol:
Still... if it is 66 games and Jokic plays 76-77+... I'd not give the MVP to the player that plays significantly less. For whatever reason.

Whether embiid is injured or not, the nba and its broadcasting partners need to seriously evaluate hyping up ‘star matchups’ on their TV schedules when stars are randomly and abruptly sat out. Maybe the culture around the nba needs to start hyping teams instead of ‘stars’

I absolutely don't know. So I can believe he is injured. It just keeps happening, especially in Denver. But I'm okay with calling it bad luck. However, it is still him not playing. Jokic played more than 50% more games than Embiid throughout the years. That's a big difference. And this year Jokic missed only one game so far. Plus he is the better playoffs performer and it is not close at this point. It has to account for something. With the difference in games played, it should account for something even in the regular season. And I actually want Embiid to do well.

Marcus Morris vs Jokic
Pat Bev been talking shit about Murray this week on his podcast.
Their was epic beef between Doc Rivers and the Philadelphia media in the playoffs a two years ago because he wouldn't play Paul Reed over DeAndre Jordan in the playoffs.
Only real fans know these tho. Casuals who the TV rights deals rely on don't understand that stuff. It is unfortunate.

He's now missed 11 games. Eight of the 11 are against teams over (mistyped and edited) .500.
In the games he's played, 18 of the 32 are against sub .500 teams. Three of the 14 against teams with decent records were against the zero D Pacers.
Bear in mind that only 12 of the the 30 teams are below .500. But somehow, by pure chance, Embiid finds himself disproportionately "injured" against the better teams, while being fully healthy to drop 70 on the Spurs. And he somehow is never injured for Detroit or Washington or Charlotte or Toronto.
He's got a nagging knee injury. It allows him to sit out whenever he finds it convenient, because he's saving himself for the playoffs. And, if he disappears again in the playoffs, he has a ready made excuse.

Let's hope something happens in the 4th quarter that resembles basketball. Up to this point we haven't seen any basketball whatsoever. One team doing great at struggling and the other doing awful at struggling. The Nuggets should be up by at least 15 given the circumstances and they absolutely deserve to lose. They may not but this showing is disgraceful.
Also, in a game like this, Jokic should step up and dominate inside. I'm fine with being unselfish and not playing for stats but come on. Go out and score some points.

Denver has been sleep walking through games the last 2 months and it's hard to enjoy the games when the effort has been half speed, granted they are winning more the they are losing but when they go up against a good team that is giving maximum effort you get what happened in NY the other night.

They were playing a good game in Philly that they lost and a great one at Boston that they won. Still, you are right. The team plays without heart at the moment and has been for a while now. Jokic is usually playing like Jokic but the rest is not there. If they don't improve they will be out in the 2nd round. This is not a championship team now.

Denver played a very bad game but they actually deserved the FTs. No worries they missed like half of them anyway. I had great expectations and this game turned out to be among the worst I've seen all season. It was more fun watching the 76ers reserves than the Denver starters and that's telling you something. What a shitty effort on the Nuggets part. It's a win and that's where the good news end for me.

Deserved free throws or not this is Insidehoops where free throws are looked down upon no matter what.
I don't expect anyone to speak up about free throws this game because it works against popular agendas.
Just thought it was a great game from Paul and to replace Joel and score a game and career high against the champs with no free throws at all was something that should be noted.

It was a great game from the part of your team that made it to the floor. It shouldn't have been close and it was because they all played with great effort. Beverley was really motivational. So those players should be proud. Also, this is reason enough not to think of the 76ers as a 2-3 man team. This is a capable squad that should go far this year. On that note, I'll add that all players need to show up. Especially when it gets tough because it will.
As for the Nuggets, this kind of effort or lack thereof won't be enough. I hope they wake up.

They look tired. They still have played more back to backs than any other team (9 so far), and they are at the tail end of a rough stretch on the road against very good competition. I think they will be just fine. The remaining schedule is relatively easy, and I still think they are likely to get the first seed in the west. But they do seem to have a habit now of making the easy games seem difficult.

I didn’t mention it before, but 9 of the 11 games Embiid has been “injured” for have been on the road. So he ducks games against teams that are over .500, and especially when they are on the road. And then people wonder about his sub-par playoff performances?
The Sixers have 13 games left on their schedule against teams that are over .500. Assuming he doesn’t actually get injured, how is he going to play enough of them to be eligible for awards?

There’s no agenda. Embiid flops and foul baits way more than most. Hence his ppg is inflated by fta.
Finding a game here or there than is an exception doesnt mean anything.

Coincidence that the game that was here or there was this one Joel didn't play and his backup was the game high scorer without any fta?
Last time Joel played in Denver Jokic had the game winning flop and was confirmed a missed foul call on him by the two minute report the following day. Lets not act like he is not guilty of playing the refs either.
Like I said imagine the non stop crying there would be if Joel had 16 fta in a game and Jokic was the game high scorer while having 0 fta.
This isn't supposed to be an assemnt of refereeing or anything specific in this game. Deserved calls or not that's not the point I'm trying to make, just how full of shit certain posters are.
