Is Joel Embiid scared to play in Denver?

Is it a high altitude thing?

He always misses Sixers at Nuggets games.

It's the coach's decision whether he plays or not. I don't think he cares either way.

I don't think so. Just unfortunate timing.

I don't think so. Just unfortunate timing.

So far this season, he has played 2 over .500 teams on the road. The first was the Bucks on opening night (the Bucks who just fired their coach because of their abysmal defense). The second was against the Pacers, not exactly known for their D.

Of the 11 games he has missed, 9 were road games, and 8 were against teams with .500 or better records.

Draw your own conclusions. I don’t think Denver in particular has much to do with it. He just likes beating up on bad teams or teams with awful D. Then when the post season comes, he can use his nagging injury as an excuse for his sub-par performance. Never mind that his par performance is already greatly skewed.

I'm just trying to imagine how Embiid would just tell the coaching staff & his teammates that he's sitting out via his own decision vs all these teams. It doesn't seem plausible. Haters will try to rationalize it but you know damn well he's not the one deciding to sit out, nor did he sit out vs. Denver because he's scared to play there after he's dominated Jokic at home.

Also, he has to hit the 65 game mark to win his awards, so why did he also sit out vs bad teams or teams with no front court to defend him at home and on the road (teams like Hawks, Jazz, Pels, Bulls) in this same stretch? Was he ducking those teams too?

More likely the coaching staff planned this. I don’t think Embiid in particular has much to do with it.

What’s funny about that? You seem like someone who still laughs at someone making fart sounds using their armpit. Beavis & Butthead humor. Yikes
