What's up with black chicks wearing wigs?

I've watched some episodes called 'customer wars' and another show 'road wars' on A&E channel. Seems like 9 out of 10 times when 2 black chicks get into a fist fight... one or both end up holding a wig when the fight is broken up. Just seems strange.
