Apparently there's a study if you load manage your body, you're likely to prolong your career by a couple years. This means taking days off, even if you feel healthy. Maybe this means 55 games a season. A couple extra prime years could mean tens of millions or even hundreds.

Assuming this is 100% true, do you as fans say, "f*ck your health, you already make too much money as it is. Go out and play." or are you more sympathetic?

I can understand that someone like Kawhi would need 20 games of rest a year where he sits out B2Bs and rests when he's close to fatigue, but I don't think Jayson Tatum for example would benefit from resting games when he's been in incredible shape all his career and is in the middle of his prime. I think player health has more to do with how well they're prepared physically to handle that 82-game season grind with some luck mixed into it.

I can't feel sorry for the players either way. They get guaranteed money and even if they do get injured relatively often they'll still get the max if they're one of the top 25-30 players in the league. Seems to me like the players who do advocate for more rest are just lazy and running from the grind. The NBA could do away with some of the B2Bs and maybe stretch out the season a little more but I doubt it really makes much of a difference.
