Like Gobb and the moderators, what is your opinion on this player these days? Is there still hope for him in the nba? i heard he's gonna start shooting jumpers and 3s after rehab.

This is the second time you've called me out for being a Simmons fan. Your brand of stupid needs to get funnier if this is going to continue.

Opinion on what? Is he even playing again? You want to talk about games not being played by a perennially injured guy? What do you wanna evaluate? Sitting techniques?

Guys with shit attitudes dont win in this league. Thats been obvious about Simmons for years and yet fans and teams keep thinking he’s gonna become something.

He’s not.

Explain his sitting technique the best way you can pls because i know you can come up with some eloquent & long posts explaining bitch made behaviors, so why not sitting techniques.

And why you still believed in him after those 4 seasons?

I am genuinely curious as to what I have posted that makes you think I am a fan of Ben Simmons. You somehow manage to hallucinate posts on a message board. A therapist could write a book on you that would be far too boring to read.

I’ll talk to you about basketball if he’s playing it. I’m gonna sit here and talk about some chronic injury?

Cant say I find that interesting. Get back to me when he’s playing and I’ll talk to you about that. Nothing to talk about otherwise.

I'm the last thing from the "conspiracy theory guy", but do you think he's actually injured?

I think he's been milking this to play video games. Can't hate on it either.

At some point this coddling #metoo everyone-is-a-victim society needs to wake up.

Hey OP,

As you should know, Simmons said publicly that he wanted to play for the Sixers again in the future. A hypothetical trade was proposed and debated in the local media and by Philly fans before the deadline.

Bridges and Simmons for Tobias and 3 firsts, 2 seconds.

I would do that deal then and I would do that deal now.

Where's the crypto nerd who was saying Philly should trade Embiid because he's not a good enough fit with Simmons?

He has a nerve impingement in his back, the **** is he supposed to do? The Nets have been stuck with his contract anyway and are going nowhere, so they have to accommodate him and hope he at least returns to playing basketball consistently so he can either help them or they can at least move him next year. The medical staff haven't cleared him to play, so that's not on him if he's actually hurt.

I'd actually be interested to see Ben Simmons on the Spurs if he can get healthy. He's an expiring next year, so perhaps he gets offloaded for some picks to some tanking team and is waived. I don't think a contender will touch him at this point.

He will be a 40 million dollar expiring contract next year. I intentionally wrote that not describing him as a player or even a person but as an asset to a team that wants space to sign a max free agent. For that reason he may not get traded if the Nets think they can bring in some players and at the same time other teams will express interest in his contract.

What would be very interesting would be if he all of a sudden got healthy, played 70 games and averaged 15, 10 and 10. I suspect that he doesn't really want to play basketball and deal with the pressure of being a team's star player but I don't know as a 100% fact that he's just milking injuries. It is an indisputable fact that he's scared to shoot and it wasn't just injury in Philly, he refused to play for that team after Doc did nothing more than answer a question honestly. He is mentally soft. But he's still talented and if he is motivated enough by money to have a contract year he will pile up assists and rebounds. That could in turn get him another payday. I would not advise any team to invest in him but he doesn't have to convince me or any kind of majority opinion, he just needs to get one GM to buy in.

The current nerve impingement in Ben Simmons’ back is less severe than the one that sidelined him for 10 weeks earlier this season, but the Nets guard will still miss some time due to the ailment. Simmons sat out Brooklyn’s game Monday night against Memphis due to the nerve impingement, and according to his agent Bernie Lee, he is considered day-to-day. “It is a continuation of the same injury that he has dealt with all year,” Lee told SNY. “…We are trying to get clearer answers as to how to get him out of the reactive cycle he’s in.” (https://sny.tv/articles/nets-ben-simmons-agent-takes-responsibility-back-injury)

The first first overall pick hasn’t had an MRI on his back yet, and Lee says he is essentially day-to-day at the moment. “We continue to try and find non-surgical options to allow Ben to move forward on a permanent basis and that is where this is my responsibility and I am (the) one to blame,” Lee said. “When I began working with Ben I made a commitment to him that I would do everything I could to find the right answers and specialists for him to work with (in order) to move forward from the issues he has been having. Clearly it hasn’t happened, and that’s my responsibility (https://sny.tv/articles/nets-ben-simmons-agent-takes-responsibility-back-injury).

as soon as they said he had herniated discs I knew his career was virtually over. Everyone else might figure it out eventually

He might need to upgrade his video game chair to help his back.

Haven’t been a fan since 2k20 when Simmons’s card was the perfect pg. 2nd best card after Yao and arguably KAJ.

This news lead me to do some digging. I had forgotten what I thought about him before the draft:

He doesn't seem to have the personality or shooting ability to take over games consistently. As he is he will be good on the break but really, who isn't good on the break? I'm not saying he'll stink but he doesn't look like a superstar out there.

Also: does anyone else wonder if he's been all that good for LSU? We have analysts saying they might not make the tournament. They have gotten more attention but the program has not been elevated at all. Is he making them a lot more money than they otherwise would have? And then we have them giving him whatever little punishment it was for his academic issues. They didn't put him up for the Wooden because of his academics. Would anyone be shocked if a bigger scandal comes out in a year or two? It's like one guy is the embodiment of everything wrong with one and done.

Just to be clear I have nothing against Simmons even though this post may sound to you like I do. I could care less if he's going to class and if he had a jumper I'd be wanting the Celtics to draft him badly. And I still hope the Celtics get him I just don't think he's going to dominate.I think the last time I still kind of wanted the Celtics to get him it was after his last choke in Philly, before he missed the whole season to force the trade and/or his bad back. I figured the Celtics could get him cheap and make him point/center, finishing from the dunker spot and passing at a high level. I couldn't find that post though.

Hypothetically he should be a more athletic, better passing Bam, but he doesn't have the mental capacity. Scared to get to the FT line, scared to shoot, and doesn't really want to play as a Center.

He got his money, but won't have a career after this deal expires.
