1992-'93 NBA Season replay

For the past couple of years I've been working on project to test the accuracy of a game I have called Above the Rim, ATR for short. I'm attempting to play every game with every team and have gotten to 29-34 games into the schedule. I thought I would share it here and let you guys follow along. '92-'93 was one of my favorite seasons as it was Shaq's rookie years giving us a plethora of good to great centers in the league. I just completed the schedule for January 10, 1993 with a game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks. hopefully the format will work out fine on ISH. With that, here we go.

Where is the site for this game

It's a stat based game that requires Excel to play it. It's not a video game, it's text. To be honest, I think younger people who grew up on NBA 2K or other video games wouldn't enjoy it. The reason I like it is it's a very accurate representation of basketball and it has every season with every team back to 1954.

The Hornets are 4.5 games back of the Bulls in the Central trying to keep pace with Indiana and Cleveland while Dallas has been horrible, 15.5 games back of Utah with a 4-24 record.

San Antonio has recently fallen out of 1st place in the Midwest as they head to Detroit to face a 14-17 Pistons team who find themselves 9 games behind the Bulls. Dennis Rodman is averaging 19.4 rebounds/game.

I think that's what my brother does with the baseball version. We had the cards for baseball and basketball. I never got into the basketball very much but spent a lot of time playing the baseball

That's cool. I play basketball, baseball, football, hockey, boxing, Pro Wrestling, Horse Racing. But the NBA is my favorite. I will probably play some NCAA since it's that time of the year.

Yes, everything you need is in the 1st and 2nd post in that topic you found. It also requires you to have Excel to run it. It has a college and Pro version, it has every NBA season back to 1954...all free, and a ton of college teams, again all free. The one thing it doesn't have are player photos. I've been collecting NBA photos for years.

It can be a little tricky getting it setup, if you need help or have questions please feel free to ask.

There is a computer version of this game coming although I'm sure the designer (Wayne Poniewaz) will charge for it. He has an excellent football game (Second and Ten) that he created. His football game has every season going back to 1932, his basketball game will go back to 1954. The thing about Wayne is his games are statistically very accurate. They're not video games, they're text based with photos, logos, whistles, crowd noise and such. But, I'm mainly a basketball guy. With March Madness about to start I'll probably play a game with my favorite college team ever, the 1989 Illinois Fighting Illini versus the '89 Michigan Wolverines from the Final Four that year.
