Interesting that Shaq has Serena as the Tennis GOAT, I assume for both genders, over the likes of Djokovic/Nadal/Federer.

Putting Floyd over someone like Ali or Foreman is criminal.

Looking at that list it seems to be who had the greatest careers and played the longest. Lebron did play more than everybody and has GOAT stats but he still didn't even win as much as Kobe or Mike. And yes they were psychopaths while Lebron is more of a nice guy.

Well Shaq's lazy though it really should be Tyson. Ali, Marciano, Louis or Johnson not Foreman

Serena is not even the record holder of most Grand Slams in women's singles (24-23) much less counting doubles (64-41) - Margaret Smith Court is.

Djokovic also has more singles GSs than Serena (retired) - still currently #1 in the world with chance to win more.

Yeah exactly, also Martina, Graf and Evert need to be in the mix just on the woman's side alone.

I don't think Foreman is in the conversation( seriously anyway) for GOAT heavyweight, let alone in general.

Foreman? lol wtf.

The real boxing GOAT is Sugar Ray Robinson.

Foreman was signifiganty better than Tyson. Tyson even admitted he was scared of him. Lennox Lewis whooped Mike's ass and he had the same build as Foreman but not even as good at boxing as George. Tyson was beating up on cans in the 80s. Foreman fought top dudes like Frazier and Ali.

George Foreman would kill Sugar Ray or Floyd in the ring literally. They would literally be in a coma after a couple rounds. don't respect lightweight guys as GOATs... a fights a fight and size matters. Foreman was an absolute tank and has a case for hardest hitter ever while having a granite chin.

Well no shit, Foreman is bigger than those guys. Sugar Ray is the pound for pound king though. Started his career 128-1, only loss came to Jake Lamotta, a guy who he also beat 5 times.

What holds Foreman back is his loss to Ali and he basically retired from boxing at a very young age only to come back as an old man.

Boxing GOAT conversations tend to take into context weight classes ( at the least the ones I've been involved in but maybe I just roll in different circles). Obviously Sugar Ray and Ali or Foreman and Pacquiao are non-starter debates if the topic is 'who wins the fight'. It's a conversation of context weighing what guys did in their eras against their weight class, not comparing fighters 75 pounds apart. That means nobody but a heavyweight could ever be GOAT.

I would rank heavyweight GOATs ahead of the lower weight classes. In most circles Ali is the GOAT. But if you watch Foreman fight he looked more dangerous and powerful. Ali ended up with severe brain damage from his style while Foreman was still sharp as a tack and running businesses as an old man. His size and power was GOAT.

Shaq is a troll that's one of the worst GOAT lists I've ever seen.

Boxing - Mohammed Ali
Basketball - MJ
Football - John Madden
Baseball - Babe Ruth
Soccer - Diego Maradona
MMA - Fedor Emilianenko
T&F - Carl Lewis
Tennis - Federer
Hockey - Gretzky
Golf - who cares
Gymnastics - who cares
Swimming - Phelps

Tyson is probably the most overrated boxer of all time.

He is very much the Lebron James of boxing.

Came up during an era with no great heavyweights and lost to all the halfway decent one's he faced such as Lennox, Holyfield and looked bad against Botha etc.

Of course this was Tyson after going to prison, but that's really no excuse, Holyfield was past his prime and not even a big heavyweight. Lennox thoroughly and completely trounced Tyson, completely dominated him in every facet and remember that Lennox lost to Klitchko.

Facts are that Tyson was too short and too limited technically to deal with tall boxers like Lewis. He already struggled against tall journeymen. He was also mentally weak and had bad endurance, relative to the competition.

If the opponent didn't fold within a few rounds, he seemed to get stuck, didn't have the ability to change his approach.

He was easy to market when he was ko'ing chumps that just want to out and lose without risking brain damage.

I would have liked to have seen a pre-Douglas Tyson fight some of those guys he lost to after the fact. Not that it would have necessarily changed the result, but that Buster loss took away alot of the veneer of invincibility that mind-fukked guys before the bell rang. He was never the same after that or prison.

Boxing GOAT is Ray Robinson by general consensus among boxing community, in the pound for pound sense.

Heavyweight GOAT is Ali … Ali has the best resume … prime Tyson might be head to head GOAT as he was on a different level than everyone else. Can only think of a few guys who would have a chance to beat prime Tyson … Ali has a good chance due to his durability and his use of psychological warfare. Foreman has style advantage. Liston has style advantage. Maybe even Vitali Klitschko.

Nobody thinks Mayweather is the GOAT

He would have been cooked if he was in the era of Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler

Lol then why was Manny Steward up Lennox ass to put Tyson away? It took Lewis 8 rounds to put away drug addicted Tyson who was only fighting for money. 8 rounds of constant blows to Tyson to put him away.

Had Mike been in his prime those punches he missed in the opening rounds would have connected and Lewis would have been done.

Lewis was always a defensive boxer and someone who was criticized for not having knockout power and for always fighting to protect himself first and foremost.

Make no mistake though, Lewis completely destroyed Tyson, probably worse than if he had knocked him clean out. That fight dismantled the myth of Tyson completely.

88 Tyson crushes this ****** within 2 rounds

He couldn’t even handle Tysons sparring partner McCall who sparked him

It took him 8 rounds to beat the shadow of Mike Tyson.

Tyson is still relevant in boxing TODAY decades removed from his prime while Lewis exited boxing by ducking a rematch against Vitali Klitschko

Serena Williams the GOAT for tennis?? :facepalm Maybe the GOAT women's tennis player but the GOAT of any sport except maybe gymnastics should be a man. In this case it is clearly Djokovic and it's not really close. I say that as a huge fan of Roger Federer.

Ali was quoted as saying the hardest puncher he ever faced was Ernie Shavers.

Different people have different peaks/primes at different ages. To pretend that this was peak Tyson and thus supports your world view in any way shape or form is naive at absolute best.
