Huh, have you not heard of Ellis Island? 12 million immigrants passed through there, when factoring in all the kids and grandkids they would've had, that makes up a big portion of the current population. Acting like European immigration ended 400 years ago is astonishingly incorrect. I'd wager a lot of people you know, yourself included, had relatives immigrate to this country in the 20th century.

i have no issue with immigrants trickling in legally as long as they go through the proper process to get here.

but as far as unvetted illegals flooding in that we can't logistically handle? while also putting our national security at risk, laken riley being a perfect example of that? no, i don't support that.

There are plenty of immigrants entering Canada technically legally and using every single loopholes they can find to get the PR cards.

USA situation is probably worse. But businesses are still looking for cheap labour so it probably won't stop for outsiders to find ways to get in where insiders are actively opening the gates.

It's not just about "paperwork", although that too is important. It's about screening who's coming in and keeping out potential criminals.
