Of anyone this season among qualified players.

That’s an empirical statistical fact. He’s been BAD when it matters this season.

And yet people are gonna ignore any meaningful substance, and make him first team and an MVP candidate because hes the “big name” on a team with the best record?

Even tho he hasnt actually BEEN a more valuable player this season than Jalen Brunson if you actually pay attention to the games? Tatum has no pressure and doesnt need to carry any load because his team is stacked. Most games he’s out there just taking target practice. In situations where it IS tight, he hasn’t proven anything yet. How is that a first team, MVP candidate player??

It’s actually crazy how lazy the formulae are on which people base their opinions. “Well Boston has a great record, and well I guess Tatum is their best player, cuz he shoots the ball the most and I hear his name the most so he is their ‘superstar!’

He’s not a superstar and hes definitely not an MVP candidate and thinking hes a better player than Brunson or Kawhi or KING LEBRON is wild.

Thats all. Thank you.

Jayson "Not the guy" Tatum needs to play more like Sabonis and less like Kobe/Durant.

Damn he wants to be Kobe so bad he's even stinking it up in the clutch like his idol.

I really wanted to applaud Curry for finally winning a real ring, but the 2022 run looks like it's the weakest in history. So it doesn't actually count.

Wiggins outplaying Tatum on the big stage wasn't really a fluke, or "he's just too young". It was an indication that he's just a weakling with a soft ass game. I also really wanted to like Tatum and give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's basically Harden 2.0 but not nearly as special in the regular season.

Dude just turned 26 and people are writing him off like he's some bum that'll never amount to anything.

He gets shut down once the defense zooms up on him. His handles and shotcreating ability are limited.

Also the intent of this thread isn't even to knock Tatum. It’s to point out how flawed the logic is that because the C’s have a great record, we have to crown one of their players a superstar in order for it to make sense.

His team has a great record because the team is playing great. Theres no need to make one guy responsible for each team’s fortune. Occasionally it’s true but fans always seem to need to think of each team as being “so and so’s team.” And theyre trying to make Boston “Tatum’s team” and thats gonna lead to him getting really overrated because of their record.

I believe that stat.

He's just too predictable.
