People in Florida will be allowed to kick out squatters immediately and law enforcement are instructed to assist them without a court order that can take months or years. They will not arrest the homeowners for changing locks like California and New York does. FL has a large amount of vacant houses as so many homes are seasonal. They were already cracking down on squatters as it was but this is just another tool homeowners can use to kick out unwanted vagrants.

Naturally liberals are enraged at DeSantis for this and a multitude of things like:
Not allowing the homeless to build encampments around populated areas. Florida's homeless population is half of what it was in 2010 while CA and NY has skyrocketed.

Being ranked as high as #1 in education despite spending a fraction of the money on students that liberal states spend.

No one is crying about squatters being able to hold on to abandoned properties that have passed the state time limit which is 5-30 years. Once they are contacted by the owner to leave though, it's time to leave. I don't have a problem with the sheriff's office charging people to evict their squatters or non paying tenants. It would be nice for people to be able to pay a private 3rd party squatter removal team but people need to accept that things could get physically violent for the squatters. I personally think if they can hold on to the property for years then power to them but you should be able to shoot and kill them if they refuse to leave, just like you would in your own home. A store manager at Costco will probably have different opinions than an Engineer at Intel with a PHD despite earning about the same. There’s a huge problem when people who should be working on rockets are working at Meta instead. They’re forwarding capitalism instead of society like they should, and since taxes should be in the interest of society, taxes should subsidize these kinds of high skill jobs to be competitive. M4all will be another good thing because it helps small business, the impoverished and job mobility for your higher earners(since your job isn’t tied to benefits). A friend of mine signed a noncompete for a firm that was absolved. He’s still getting paid and cannot get a new job because the noncompete is still valid, but he has to cover insurance out of pocket. It’d be like $1700/mo if his wife didn’t have a job with insurance, don’t tell me that isn’t ****ed. So yeah, there are plenty of reasons high educated high earners want social safety nets outside of ‘virtue signaling’.
