Lebron has 1200 games with 5 or more assists. Jordan has 500. Lebron has 300 games with 10 assists. Jordan 80.

Does he really always need to be compared to jordan each time just to show how great he is? Lol.

The game is trash because 99% of the conversation is about stats, the rules have been changed to accommodate players getting more stats, the bar has been lowered to lionize stats and the players main motivation is getting stats. No one's watching this trash.

And yet basketball is more popular than ever internationally. The game is as good as it's ever been, pops, go back to watching your dusty old VHS tapes of players being unable to hit a wide open jumper and convincing yourself it's good defense.

Correction: Casuals such as yourself stopped watching basketball.

Why are you are even here? Why is this boomer hanging around like a parasite?

The game is still the game. However, the stats should be put into the correct context. Being a top 5 scorer in a season is a top 5 scorer no matter what the stats are. The number shouldn't matter. It's why this Bron passing MJ in 30 pt games is a meaningless statement. It's good for getting kids pumped and old heads triggered

Yup.

MJ could have spent his whole career averaging 35-37 a game if he wanted to, but he bought into Phil's team oriented system and sacrificed his own numbers for the betterment of the team. Instead he settled on averaging 30-32.

The main criticism being hurled at Jordan was "He can score all those points but he can't win." Which is hilarious because sure while he may have been selfish, up until that point he hadn't played on anything even remotely resembling a good team.

The Bron apostles on the other hand take the complete opposite approach. Doesn't matter if Bron is on a good team or a bad team, the answer is always the same. "Sure they lost but hey look at Bron's stats..."

So? James is more of a point guard. Everyone already knew that.

James has obviously aged better than Jordan or anyone else before him. For those of us that still feel Jordan is ahead of him it's about what they did through their prime years. Nothing Jordan did as a Wizard contributed to his argument. I absolutely give James credit for being th he greatest "old" player we've ever seen and he is that by a wide margin. But these late years of his he's going to continue playing at the third team AllNBA level that is, though a good year for most players, not the kind of accomplishment that adds to a GOAT argument.

it only took him near 30 years in an era where defense is basically outlawed

How is it that Curry who also played in a "no defense" era and is 36 years old doesn't even come close to the 30 point games MJ had?

It also took Lebron to season 21 to pass Jordan in total offensive rebounds.
