I thought it would be a few more games. I was just checking in on TNT because I was going to watch the second game.

Of course both SGA and Jalen out for OKC continuing my unbroken streak of tuning into doubleheaders that are pre ruined by injury and/or rest.

I dunno if it's just me but he looks chubbier/slower.
I thought the point of "ramping up" was to be in shape from the time you get back.
He also doesnt look all that engaged. To be honest tho his body language had been kinda shite even before the injury. Doesnt strike me as being locked in. I honestly think he's dreading the playoffs and what's gonna happen to his reputation if he comes up short yet again.

He just turned 30 and was playing the best basketball of his career. They’re about to have enough money to sign a Max player who will probably be Paul George. It’ll probably be a while before his final reputation is set. And I say that knowing there isn’t a single person here who thinks Paul George makes a difference.

I'm not talking about his long term reputation. I'm talking about his reputation right now.
Embiid's a sensitive guy. He knows the talk is out there about his lack of playoff dominance. If he flops again this year (no pun intended) he's really gonna take a lot of shit on social media. And I think he's one of the guys that cares about that stuff.
I know he's been shooting lights out this season but he hasnt looked... "into it" to me. Tonight he has six turnovers in 25 minutes. No blocks. He did get called for a charge in the opening minute that I thought was probably a bad call, but he let it totally take his mind out of the game.
I dunno, I just think there's definitely some indicators he still doesnt have the mental toughness to lead a team deep in the playoffs. I think even he knows it, and he's shook.

Just realized Maxey is out. Embiid back after 2 months and 2.5 stars are missing from his return game. With everyone buying into the idea that the regular season doesn’t matter(Largely in agreement with fans who hate that the players act like it doesn’t matter)? I almost don’t even know why they bother trying to schedule games. The nba needs weekly flex schedules at this point. I’d rather see the stars from a non marquee matchup than these endless injury report specials. It’s really stopped me from even checking in most nights. Too many are like this. I can’t just plan to watch anyone.

PG13 would be great as a 3rd option. As a 1 or 2 not so much at this point in his career.

I was watching the first half and some of the third quarter. Was nothing special up until that point. Unless SGA is badly injured I don't really know why he didn't play. OKC is a young team, they need HCA if they can get it.
Embiid having trimmed his beard reminded me how all the young folks have beards these days for the whole duration of their 20s. It's just strange that you don't have any pictures in which you look like a young adult.

He played well.
Flopped plenty.
Didnt seem scared to fall into people lol
Lost a few pounds.
Philly might scare Boston or Milwaukee now.
But this wasn’t a real OKC squad.
And I can’t think of a more favorable matchup for Joel than Chet, who is outweighed by 100lbs
