the GOAT gets an all-star teammate
otherwise it takes 3+ stars to have a dynasty
Accordingly, the goat standard is being unbeatable the instant you get 1 all-star teammate - it's clear that being unbeatable with 1 other star is better than mostly losing with 2 stars (Lebron).
"unbeatable" is defined as perennial favorite status, 60-70 wins, multiple 3-peats, perfect championship record, and never losing more than 2 straight games for 9 years (90-98') the instant you get an all-star teammate.. That's the GOAT standard.

At least we’re finally recognizing that Pippen was a star player. Huge breakthrough :applause:

Nice luxury to have when that one allstar teammate is an all nba/all defense 1st teamer, and easily better than anyone else's 2nd star, in some cases better then other teams only star.....

And to be able to pay him bench player money....how did Jordan do with an almost 30PPG player, the #1 Draft pick and his choice of role players.
grocery bagging rivals.
note the size difference.

Hey, I hear what you're saying about the dynamics of NBA dynasties and the impact of superstar teammates. Undoubtedly, having top-tier talent alongside any player can elevate a team's success. However, I think it's a bit reductionist to solely attribute the success of a dynasty to just the number of stars on a team.
When we look at LeBron James' career, yes, he's had his share of star teammates, but let's not forget the incredible versatility and adaptability he brings to any roster. LeBron has consistently shown that he can lead a team in multiple facets of the game, from scoring and playmaking to defense and leadership. His ability to elevate the performance of his teammates and make those around him better is a hallmark of his greatness.
Moreover, the definition of a 'dynasty' isn't solely determined by the number of championships won or the perfect records in finals. It's about sustained excellence over a period of time, and LeBron has undeniably achieved that. His teams have consistently been contenders, reaching the finals multiple times across different franchises and leading his teams to deep playoff runs year after year.
While achieving a perfect championship record and multiple 3-peats would indeed be remarkable, let's not discount LeBron's incredible achievements and impact on the game. His legacy goes beyond just numbers on a stat sheet; it's about his enduring influence on the sport and his ability to transcend generations. That, to me, is the true measure of greatness.
