Only media and sports fraud has everyone thinking the Lakers are overmatched - it's absurd and lunacy.. The NBA stacked the Lakers with Wood, Dinwiddie and many more just in case - it's one of the most stacked rosters top to bottom that I've ever seen.

reaves gordon isnt a wash lol. Gordon is one of the better wing defenders in the league, reaves had a bad defensive year and they have similar production on offense. kcp is one of the best 3nD guys, i like hachimura but he's pretty average and not starting on a lot of playoff teams. ofc jokic>lebron is a huge reason why denver is better too. That's not an indictment against bron you're trying to sell it as lol,

Yea that’s a little wild. I think Reaves can be exposed defensively in a playoff series but what he adds offensively is greater.

I’d say Gordon is definitively better than Rui though so it evens out.

If you really look at it fairly Lebron and AD are one of the best statistically producing duos in the NBA and are on par with Jokic and Murray duo.

And Gordon / KCP / Porter are pretty much on par with Reaves / Rui / D-Lo. There's not a big difference at all between the talent of these two teams.

All the games they played last year came down to the wire pretty much. LA was actually up double digits in two of the games. They just choked it away.

I do think it's reasonable to say that they are fairly evenly matched. One team has the best player in the world and the other doesn't though, so that moves the needle.

These teams are much closer than their recent H2H record shows. The Lakers are due to win a few games so I would not at all be surprised to see a long series. Even if the Lakers win I won't be shocked. I think Denver has a 70-30 edge. Definitely not a one sided matchup.

That's not saying much. The huge difference is health/consistency. The Lakers are the type of team that at their best can beat the world champs, then be blown away by the Kings. They cant do anything if they can't string good performances together.

you're underrating defense when looking at denver's other guys. EPM denver's trio is 2.4/0.7/1.4. LA's trio is -1.2/0.3/1.6. AD is better than murray tbf to 3ball so unless jokic is that much better than lebron where jokic/murray is 9 wins better than lebron/ad(dont think that's true), the nuggets 9 extra wins came from the role players and/or coaching(ilikely both). AD/Lebron could match jokic/murray if murray doesnt go off thats true.

Pretty sure the Lakers never had a 4th quarter lead in any of the playoff games. I don't think they were ever tied either.

MPJ and KCP are plus defenders. Christian Braun is also a good defensive player off the bench.

KCP is all-defensive team level perimeter defender. Braun is an excellent defender. Watson is capable of being amazing, but also capable of making immature brain farts. Porter is much better this year than in the past. And both Jokic and Murray are significantly underrated on D now. Both are much improved, especially Jokic.
