That 4th quarter of game 1 versus Denver encapsulates Lebron's whole career and it's why he'll never be the GOAT. He was this way early in his career and he's still like this approaching 40. 2 pts in the 4th quarter? Something happens to this guy in crunch time and it's always been this way. When the game is tight the pucker factor is just too much for him.

It was really a ZERO pt 4th quarter.
Giving 2011 Finals vibes.

The 2 was a last second fake statpadding layup.

In his defense, it’s 5200ft elevation.
Entire Lakers squad didn’t look the same after mid-3rd quarter.

5 straight no-shows against Denver in the 4th by James in the POs.

He plays a lot of 4th quarter minutes all season so of course he was up there with the way the run the rotations, but he can't do it in the POs anymore when it's a war of attrition.

MJ stans who proclaim their God can do no wrong hold LeBron to an even higher standard than that. They are insane. Most toxic mother ****ers on Earth.

What does LeBron do in game 1 for so many games, for so many years? Oh, that's right...They don't know because they barely even watch games let alone have played in any. :oldlol:

Lead the league in fourth quarter scoring this year and has the highest 4th quarter ppg average in NBA history but yeah, a lackluster performance in a feel out game sums up his whole career :facepalm

How did he fare in clutch scoring ?
(5min or less, game within 5pts either way) ?

Not too badly. With a minimum of 20 GP in clutch time, LeBron ranks 9th in points, and shot 53%.

Let's actually take a look at his playoff clutch stats found on NBA.com:

2023: 7 GP |2.1 PPG (33rd) | 30.8% FG%
2022: No Playoffs
2021: 1 GP | 2.8 PPG (22nd) | 100.0% FG%
2020: 10 GP | 1.3 PPG (38th) | 18.8% FG%
2019: No Playoffs
2018: 10 GP | 4.7 PPG (3rd) | 50.0% FG%
2017: 7 GP | 2.6 PPG (19th) | 26.3% FG%
2016: 8 GP | 2.3 PPG (20th) | 33.3% FG%
2015: 13 GP | 3.1 PPG (7th) | 30.6% FG%
2014: 7 GP | 3.4 PPG (13th) | 54.6% FG%
2013: 9 GP | 4.1 PPG (1st) | 44.0% FG%
2012: 12 GP | 3.8 PPG (6th) | 37.0% FG%
2011: 14 GP | 3.1 PPG (10th) | 39.5% FG%
2010: 5 GP | 3.2 PPG (9th) | 62.5% FG%
2009: 6 GP | 5.2 PPG (2nd) | 52.6% FG%
2008: 8 GP | 2.6 PPG (13th) | 26.1% FG%
2007: 13 GP | 4.5 PPG (2nd) | 52.8% FG%
2006: 10 GP | 5.5 PPG (1st) | 50.0% FG%
2005: No playoffs
2004: No playoffs

I find this really interesting. It seems LeBron was viewed as a poor clutch performer earlier on in his career when in fact, according to his clutch stats, he was pretty effective.

Once he went to Miami, the narrative really changes after 2011, but judging from what we see, things seem to be less favorable. It might be (though it would probably require a much deeper analysis), that LeBron hasn't really been a consistent clutch player since his Cleveland days.
