If this is his last game as a Laker, I will forever appreciate him for leading us back to a chip after Kobe set our franchise back for years by not retiring when he should have.

What options does he have really? I guess we could trade him. Don't think he'd go anywhere else as a FA this season if he declined his option.

Means nothing. LeBron likes attention; he likes the spotlight. I'd be very surprised if he leaves LA or retires. The limelight means too much to him.

How did Kobe's contract set them back in their tanking years? If he retired in 2013 they'd have been in the same position regardless lmao. If anything he helped them lose games.

like every other thing that was ever won, all that will live on is the fact that it happened. It’s not even in the shortlist of wacky situations somebody won so many people were lost to military service during World War II. The Steelers and the Eagles Eagles didn’t even have enough players left to play so they merged for a while into something fans called the Steegles.

World War II absolutely decimated sports. The MLB lost 500 players to the draft.

every one of those championships is counted and always has been.

Covid was a hassle, but it didn’t do as much to change the sport as any number of things Have changed society while going completely unrecognized in the books.

None of that shit matters. Lakers and Celtics fighting to have the most ever and probably will be for the rest of our lives and that championship counts exactly the same as all the rest.

be funny to see a window into a parallel universe, where the heat wind just to see the exact same people acknowledging the extra loss on LeBron‘s finals career. The entire objection to that shit is because of who won it and that is always been really lame to me.

Like Shaq complaining about Duncan having the 99 ring like we didn’t watch him try to win it. Just emotion over sense.

Not at all. No real fans in attendance. No pressure. Context is important.

I would have guessed ... Clips?

If he wants to stay in Los Angeles and wants another go?

Honestly, he takes a paycut and replaces Westbrook and that's a team that can contend.
