“Everyone is impressed by Victor Wembanyama's level of focus, his determination... He’s already begun two a day work outs, he's been at it for weeks now…He’s been fully immersed in their offseason."

Shams.

If work ethic matches the talent and they nail at least one of these picks(4 and 9?) he’s gonna be 28/12/5/4 next year.

How early can we bet on MIP?

His shins (and bones in general) are at significant risk of horrific compound/spiral fractures. But barring that. It’s a fkn lock.

MIP means you stunk..

Goats don't stink and need to win most improved

This idea that Wemby is on track for goat-level is absurd.. Many 20 or 21-year olds were better

Wemby needs to get on that LeHGH to develop some Shaq-like thickness to his bone structure.

Good call for DPOY, but I don't imagine it will be a good return when he finished second this year.

Luka was at 30x to win it with Mavs this year and I put money on that.

DPOY yes. MIP no.

you wouldn’t think so, but the last five winners were all 19 or 20 point per game guys in seasons before that. They don’t give it to role players who turn into good players. They give it to borderline Stars who become stars.

None of them was a 2nd year guy. At your second year you are kinda expected to improve.

His defense is one of a kind. He will get stronger and improve there, not losing mobility with his strength gains any time soon. DPOY I'd say is 80% likely (10% injury, 10% someone else being better). But as he was already very good on defense he is not winning MIP based on that side of the floor.

As for his offense, I can't tell. What I can say though is what I'd like to see happening.

1. Less freelancing
2. Developing a go-to move. He is tall, it should be an easy one. And I'm thinking one where he creates his own shot, so not cutting or anything off of a great pass. A traditional go-to move.
3. Less 3 pointers and more of an inside game

If those things happen he will be a top 5-7 player and obvious MIP.

If I could bet on him getting some MVP votes, then that might be an interesting bet I bet.
