Any of you guys gone on a road trip more than 1500 miles? Me and a few buddies are planning on making a trip to california from houston. any tips or ideas? and how much do u think gas would be for a toyota sienna to go 1500 miles.

Ive taken many trips from Houston to Long Beach, CA... but we drove straight there, didnt stop except for the times we needed to refuel and the few rest stops for restroom breaks.

The only thing I can think of if youre trying to stretch out the road trip with activities is vist the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas.

Be careful when you drive through New Mexico at night, theres the occassional dust storms which can make it difficult to see through.

Once you get across Texas, youre halfway there.

I drove from Dallas to LA a couple years ago. It only took 18 hours to get there, and me and two of my friends drove in shifts of six hours without stopping for anything but gas. I can't tell you how much your gas would cost because I don't know what kind of MPG you get.

From Houston I went to Orlando, but I didn't drive si that doesn't count. The farthest I've drove on my own is to Lousiana.
