View Full Version : Shai should be MVP, they said. Why is the MVP down 0-2, they said.

Kendrick Perkins and Stephen A both voted for Shai as MVP. They voted for the best black player, obviously. Racism in the NBA is an undeniable fact by now.
Shaq took a dump at Jokic after Denver was down 0-2, timing his tirade when Jokic looked the worst. Nevermind that the MVP is a regular season award.
Nuggets & Thunder had identical team records.
Shai: 30.1 ppg on 53.5 FG%, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 apg
Jokic: 26.4 ppg on 58.3 FG%, 12.4 rpg, 9.0 apg
Shai had a great season, but Jokic's was still better.
In corroborate the above:
Jokic is #1 in VORP, Shai is at #4.
Jokic is #1 in box +/-, Shai is at #4.
Jokic is #1 in PER, Shai is at #3.
Again, fantastic season for Shai but superior season by Jokic.
Also interesting how "Shai scored 30 points 50 times" is often mentioned. So he's the scoring champion then? Nope, it's Luka. In fact, Luka averaged 3.8 points more than Shai. Luke scored 116 more points than Shai for the season. In fact, Luka exploded for 73 points in the highest scoring performance in the season. If scoring puts Shai over Jokic, then by the same logic Luka is better than Shai.
Some people, unhappy with MVP results, often use the playoffs to say "see, he ain't no MVP". Well, no matter the outcome of Denver's game 7, Jokic is going deeper into the playoffs than Shai. Jokic won 3 games in 2nd round. Shai is stopping at 2.
Case closed, NBA racists.
On a final note, the majority of NBA players are black. Majority of NBA media are black. Whites are the minority. Racism shouldn't be tolerated.

Stop making it racial.
Don’t let Perk, Steven A or Kenny Smith ruin sh!t and make it racial for you.
Both Jokic and Shai could have won it this year.
Both deserved it more than Lazy Luka or anyone else.
Jokic is a little greater than “Mr boring but super consistent” Shai.

Jokic is already a champion. That's in the books FOREVER. :basketball He's 28.
Embiid, a year older, never even made it past the 2nd round. What to talk about legacy? Lol. :kobe:

The same way for some people Lebron can never recover from the mavs series. Jokic will never recover from getting COOKED by a 22 year old kid, while joker is in is prime….and I absolutely love it. Getting beat by 50 points by a 22-year-old hahhahahahahhahahahahaa. A historical ass whopping

True, Embiid got cooked by a 22 year old 3 years ago and has never recovered, still hasn't made it past the 2nd round :(

Perkins made it racial last year when he implied Jokic was leading in the MVP voting narrative because of his skin color and because people were racist against Embiid. Jokic would have won 3 MVPs in a row if not for that and now maybe 4, though voters would have likely been too tired for 4 in a row. He flat out stated that the voters as whole were racist when in point of actual fact, him and Steven A are the pro black racists.
One TV "commentator" literally decided the MVP last year. One single guy.

In case you don't remember. The narrative and informal polling shifted from that day forward.

Shai is definitely extremely good at what he does, unstoppable with that drive and midrange. Also a very good defender.
He's too much of a blackhole though and that will hold him back.
I feel ok about my comparison to Iverson. They're quite similar players, except of course Shai is more efficient, but their use of dribbling to get into the lane and hit the jumper is very similar. Both also are point guards that play like shooting guards. Both lack the elite playmaking to really get the most of their talent.

It's really not and you clearly don't remember how the polling was going prior to that week.

That first clip take was uploaded March 9th.
And then, on March 17th:

Kia MVP Ladder: Joel Embiid overtakes Nikola Jokic for No. 1 spot
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid remains hot and rises to No. 1 as the Kia MVP chase continues to sizzle.
I won't even get into the rest of the article and opinions that started popping up.
Whatever the case, Joel Embiid is a fraud and he was out in the first round, again, deservedly so.

I remember that. That's why I hate Perkins. Stephen A.
Let's not forget that Mark Jackson left Jokic out of his top 5 ballot entirely.
