View Full Version : Is this how he normally plays and I just don’t see him enough or what?

He’s been popping up a lot lately online in the conversations we old people are criticized for having. Is this the norm or a few isolated incidents?

Also…anyone who can’t see those please let me know. I saw that some people can’t when I use that site and I gotta figure out if it’s a site or a device issue before I put thousands of things on it. It’s a bitch keeping up with all the random images and gifs.

In the rules, they really should just straight up allow the players to tuck the ball under one arm and run straight at the basket while being allowed to shove defenders away with the other arm. At least it would be more honest.

Yeah, that's how he plays. At normal speed it doesn't look as bad but the refs should be able to see it.

They pretty much did it with traveling when they modified the gather rules It’s entirely possible carrying gets redefined.

i’m guessing they do but don’t care. What’s crazy to me is if he did that at home and the refs called it the fans will start chanting that the refs suck. People legitimately see calling even egregious ones as refs trying to take over the game. And a lot of young fans see it as trying to limit creativity and take the game backwards.

i wouldn’t single haliburton out. tons of players shuffle their feat while setting up for the thre and also palm the hell out of the ball.

then there is the gather step which somehow turns into 4 steps

it is what it is. i’ve personally stopped caring about it quite awhile ago. as long as they call it consistently for both sides I don’t have too much of a problem

I made a thread (or maybe just a thread comment) at the beginning of the year about how Haliburton egregiously travels and carries all the time. Literally all game.

Even for this "newer age gather step" bullshit, Haliburton is really bad with traveling/carrying.

I find the guy pretty overrated.

I remember seeing that first one in real time and side eyeing my TV thinking he traveled egregiously.

It is pretty much the entire league. It’s just a matter of barely doing it or doing it so egregiously you clearly don’t give a ****. But nobody can come in here and say their favorite player plays legally. But some get the extra attention for being ***** about it. Harden for a long time. Ja Morant briefly before he basically disappeared. I think Hali Is that guy for now because I’ve seen quite a lot of complaints Singling him out. You know, once you get on a certain algorithm, you’re going to see more of it
