He looked like one of the best offensive players in the league. Come to think of it, booker looked like prime jordan vs nuggets last year too. We gotta stop crowning people best player and mvps and all this other bs when they only play 1 side of the ball.....Defense is literally half the game..... i dont give a fk what the metrics say. He doesn't play defense.....im im lookin at it in real time.
(says underbreath) Ant Edwards lookin' like 91 fking Jordan.....n this is their king....must of lost they damn mind.

He has never "looked like" Jordan. Their games look nothing alike. Kobe looked like MJ. Big difference.

People claiming Jokic is a GOAT center are crazy. On offense he's elite but on defense he's a bum, I like my centers to be elite on both sides of the ball. I would take Hakeem over Jokic every time.

People describe this in terms of boxes they need to check though. Jokic plays the position differently from anyone ever.

Magic couldn't shoot or play defense but most have him in the top 5

Ant won a game 7 playing awful on offense.
24 shots for 32ts is beyond bad. If we are going to attribute a SG looking like MJ because he played against an opposing center, we must apply that same logic when Ant gets locked up in the biggest game of his life.

Hakeem has become so overrated. Some of the worst decision making for a superstar ever. Even compared to other C's. And we all know how bone headed all-time great C's we've seen. Took this man years to figure out how to pass out of a double team or how to not throw a tantrum when things didn't go his way. By the team he figured it out his physical abilities were already starting to wane.
But when he did figure it out he was absolutely incredible. But no I'm not easily taking him over Jokic. Depends on the pieces.

Hakeem was one of the first players that left an impression on me when I started watching, but the praise he gets 30 years later is ridiculous, while people shit on the likes of Öebron, Kobe or even Jordan.
Jokic isn't a bum on defense. He's average and that's fine. His offense offeets it enough so he can win a title and could still in the future.

The player that can make Embiid look like a champ hasn't arrived yet.

Nope. Maybe in an alltime sense, but Hakeem is still underrated from an impact perspective. The learning to pass out of a double thing was more an evolution of the team offensive philosophy than some late career growth from him. He didn't play with the greatest teams before his peak run in a time where dumping it down low and watching was the cutting edge philosophy. In short once he got it in the post it likely wasn't coming back out. His best trait imo, one he shared in common with Mj was quick reacting decision making with the ball and by extension into his famous counters offensively and defensively because he was more a reactive player than a cerebral one. Maybe one could argue this era of study and film could force him to be more self destructive with the ball preying on the reactivity but it's just theory. But I'd take him over Joker most cases depending on cast just due to 2way dominace.

Edwards vs Denver: 28/5/6 61%TS
Kawhi vs Philly 2019: 35/10/4 63%TS

So it looks like opposing stars were shredding the Sixers defense to the same extent that Edwards was Denver, except Embiid was not putting up CLOSE to the same offensive output that Jokic was in these series :lol

Embiid was injured when Butler played them in 2022 though, and Butler was clearly playing while hurt in the 2023 Finals, wasn't the same guy he was against Milwaukee because he injured his ankle against the Knicks.
Teams simply don't attack Embiid the same way that they do Jokic overall because a healthy Embiid is a great defensive player while Jokic isn't, and it's not really a skill issue on Jokic's part, he's just not athletic enough.

Underrated? By whom? Broke into the house and stole a couple rings while MJ was whiffing at curveballs in the back yard. And for one of those ring heists he was a sidekick to OJ Simpson.
Agree with the rest tho. Great points.

Even if that were true, that doesn't change the fact Embiid's teams get lit up just as badly, while Embiid's offensive performance falls FAR short of Jokic's :lol

Not great using the 2019 Raptors series as an example tho.
His on/off numbers are probably the biggest individual differential in a playoff series ever.
Sure it is true that his offensive numbers are down in all his playoff series except for 2020, but defensively his importance and impact on his team's defense isn't something that diminishes noticeably

Jokic is a much better player than Embiid but this is a retarded comparison. Denver plays better defensively in the playoffs with Joker on the bench, while the Sixer's defense turns into a dumpster fire without Embiid. You have to look at the value within the team than just comparing teams like that, it gives much better insights.

Embiid literally led the entire playoffs this year in +/- on off court in the 1st round. i just let them talk. i dont even bother to respond. one they keep bringing up embiid and hakeem anytime you expose their boy. When they have nothing to do with the OP

Embiid is one of the best defensive bigs in the entire league. Jokic is at best, average. They're not in the same universe.
