They never beat anyone good.
Tatum is good but never great.
Brown is a mid-2nd option

They fleeced Brooklyn and built a great team but nothing I can get excited about

It's not even sure if they'll beat whoever they're going to face in the finals this year.

Dallas will beat them and we will see an explosion of delusional Luka fanboys.

they're a boring contender*

they're just boring in general as a basketball team in 2024.

tatum has no personality/overrated and is still living off the hype of dunking over LeBron...

Luka on the other hand...exciting, just phenomenal to watch. And he has a personality, with all the talent in the world to back up whatever sh1t he wants to talk to anyone in the league. That's the cool part about him, we're just starting to see the depth of his basketball ability and it seems like an endless pool of talent and ability.

It's just the fact that they have had the easiest path to the finals of my memory. They will have to earn it in the finals, but it's not like the Mavs are some historical team either. They were like 30/1 to win it once the playoffs start. With Lively being hurt now, who knows.

Boston will win, they're absolutely an awful matchup for the Mavs. They have two guys to throw at Luka with the height and strength combo needed and two guys to throw at Kyrie.

You got the script? They're champs already?

Also, all your points can be disproven if they win the Finals.

They'd beat a good Mavericks team.

Tatum could play really well and win FMVP averaging something like 28/10/7.

Jaylen is also more a 1B option than a 2nd option. He probably gets the ECF MVP is they beat the Pacers.

One thing for sure. They’re about to be the only finals team I don’t remember a single play of. I saw a replay of Browns three, but I didn’t watch much of that game. Largely for injury reasons there has been no reason to pay attention to any series they have been in. If the heat bucks, Knicks or even Cavs were healthy, maybe we would be having a riveting playoffs right now but as it is? I won’t even remember any of this shit. And for me that’s saying something.

I don’t turn on the playoffs to see whatever this bullshit is. I’m not trying to watch the heat without Jimmy Butler. The Bucks without Giannis and Dame. The Knicks with no Randle, who also had injured role players and had Brunson break his hand in the last game. I’m not trying to watch the Cavs minus 2 All-Stars. The pacers out here without Halliburton when they should have been a first round exit even with him. There is no good reason to watch any of this shit.

Cmon now. That one really didnt make a difference and their series were super exciting until the very end when EVERYONE started getting hurt.

It all makes a difference. I’m not trying to watch teams built to feature players who arent available. I’ll generally watch it because it’s basketball but it’s just to pass the time.

I don’t have to think a team is going to win the title to want it to have All its all stars available when I turn the game on. The pelicans weren’t going to win the title if they had Zion. But there’s lite point to watching them play a series without him. The heat were probably going to lose. But I definitely didn’t need to see that lineup without Butler and Rozier fighting to score 90.

Just a big waste of attention.

I agree it sucks when guys are out. Tho at least if it's an injury, in the playoffs, youre still gonna get super high level basketball because stakes is high and everyone's playing their ass off and teams are game planning for opponents and such. In fact in a vacuum teams still generally play at the same level for a game or two with or without a star. The Bucks got a game off the Pacers without Giannis and Dame. The Knicks beat the Sixers in a series without Randle. The Pacers are winning tonight without Reese.

Dont get me wrong, injuries in the playoffs are a huge bummer. But I think it's still at least more worth watching than a regular season game where a star just chooses to sit out because he played a couple games recently, and 3 in 4 days is just too much when he might have a contract negotiation coming up this summer. Thats when it's just like **** it, no way I'm watching if theyre gonna insult me like that.

I hope so. We will see.

Congratulations to Jaylen Brown. Absolutely deserved the conference finals mvp trophy or whatever it's called.

Yes I'd say they're a relatively boring team.

Although that's not a bad thing.

Depends what you call “boring” holding a high octane offense scoreless for the final 3 1/2 minutes is just good fvxking basketball…

Horford & Whire are the only Celtics I politegully respect.

And Jrue their only dog, but his dog is waning.
Brown got a little bit of dog in him physically.
Tatum is a boring robotic snoozefest.

Jay Brothers will show up this time around looks like.

they just passing better and moving that ball around quickly.

The more Lukyie biracial couple focus on stopping Jay Brothers, more chances Al Horfort will pull an iggy and win FMVP.

I say Celtics in 5.

No Annenoby actually made a much bigger impact than no Randle.

da man has been shooting lights out cuz he got no pressure at all.

all dat smoke is on jay brothers. they be feeling the heat.

holiday or white or horford will back door steal that FMVP.

Iggy showed the blue print.

when superstars let FMVP slip, the next best winning performance need not be perfect. it has to be just Iggy like.

Yeah they're boring but they play a winning brand of basketball. The advantage of having a bunch of really good players but no superstars is consistency

Unless the whole team has an off night, you're going to be in a dogfight
