Once the cat was out of the bag after the Denver series (no more surprise factor/no-pressure period over), Ant and the Wolves performed like crap thereafter.
This "surprise factor" inflation of performance and then the quick deflation once the "cat is out of the bag" is similar to the 94' Bulls taking their sleeping opponents by surprise in the regular season before the bubble inevitably burst in the playoffs and following season - the "real" Bulls without MJ were borderline .500 in 95' before MJ lifted them to 3-peat again.. Pippen was simply handed the most well-oiled machine ever in 94' but the 94' Playoffs and 95' regular season put him in his place as a non-franchise player that couldn't build a team - he had the team in a weak place in 95' and on a downward trajectory after being handed the keys to the most well-oiled and developed machine of all-time..
We also saw a similar 94' Bulls-like surprise factor with Francis Ngannou vs Fury, before the inevitable "95 Bulls" crash to reality against Joshua.. TLDR: one-off flukes aren't uncommon

MJ's first playoff series win had a huge surprise factor because teams were used to 1-9.

You can't compare the winning of a 3rd or 4th year team to a 1st year team
Ant and Lebron had 3 years to develop favored high seeds before entering their first playoffs, so of course their 3rd and 4th year high seeds won more than Jordan's 1st year team and 8 seed.
When Jordan had 4 healthy seasons (89'), he averaged 30 against the champs and would've taken them 7 games if Pippen hadn't missed game 6, while Ant barely averaged 25 on horrible efficiency and was nearly swept.. Lebron was even worse in his 4th season against the champs (22 on 35% and swept).

.
4th healthy season vs Finals team:
07' Lebron vs Spurs.......... 22 on 36%.... swept
24 Antman vs Mavs.......... 25 on 43%.... G-swept
89' Jordan vs DET............. 30 on 46%.... would've gone 7 if Pip didn't miss game 6

There was no surprise factor. Minnesota was a top 3 seed All year. Denver and the media viewed Minnesota as their biggest threat in the west. Top 3 pretty well accepted was those 2 teams and Boston. Dallas was the surprise that suddenly became an elite team after 2 trades

Not surprise factor, just style/matchup contrast. Denver and Dallas play very differently. One way fed into Minnesota's strengths, the other way did not.

No surprise factor we knew Minny was good all year just wanted them to prove it in the playoffs and they did. Also they were basically built to counter Denver by the same guy who built the Nuggets championship roster.

Nonsense - matchups have nothing to do with Ant wetting the bed once the pressure was on in Game 7 vs Denver and then the conference finals vs Dallas.
At one point, this guy averaged 18.7 on 29.8% for a 3 game stretch and ultimately was G-swept by #13 SRS - the Mavs are a dogshit team that is carried by Luka or Kyrie.. Kyrie destroyed Ant worse than he destroyed peak Curry in 2016

What? :lol
metrics-wise
#13 SRS
that's horrific, yet Ant was massively-upset and also wet the bed with his own poor performance... Ant wets bed vs #13 SRS, while MJ averaged 40 against the #1 SRS in 86' or 89'
