Sheed: "We would've beat the sh*t out of [the 2017 Warriors] because for the simple fact that they couldn't match up with us at any position... Steph [Curry] not a defender... Draymond [Green] is too little."
Dray: "Sheed we would’ve smacked yall. Yall was scoring 72 points per game. That’s not winning a half. And we putting you and them big ass forces in every pick and roll. Let’s see you move them feet. That one ring was great though big bro. We all appreciated it!"
Dray presumes they'd be playing under today's rules. Clearly.

He was actually only half clowning there. Dray was a 14 yr. old Pistons fan in Saginaw, MI when they won in '04. He really did appreciate it. Still a good line, though.

What does Sheed mean by match ups? No one on the Pistons was scoring over 20 and you don't have to guard Ben at all.

Sheed: @Draymond Green …first and foremost this isn’t a beef, Draymond is my lil bro who I am proud of so no matter what we say it will never be personal so don’t try to blow this up cause we both know how cats do!!! Dray you already know how we got down on that squad!! Don’t matter the rules yours or ours …. y’all as a team were too ****in little… you can ask more than half ya teammates (who we played against) on that roster… and we can keep it with that year b/c no way yall could **** with any of us in our prime… at any point I can come on ya show or you can come visit mines and we can go thru the roster man for man coach for coach ….

Eh... dray is kinda right for once. Big Ben who was their anchor... played in an era where he could solely hover around the paint. He was literally never drawn out of it.
We make fun of rudy for getting J'ed by Luka looking like a cartoon character on the step back game winner but there's nothing Ben Wallace could've done better.
Old heads will say "NAH! Big Ben would've clapped Luka and punched him in the face and these soft ass cream puffs would've lost! Hahaha..."
Nope. It would've been even worse since Ben had no height or length compared to Rudy. And no experience hounding guys on the perimeter.
Old heads NEED to realize everybody being able to dribble and bury 3s makes a lot of their old go0n favorite players and teams irrelevant. You can't goon a 3 pt shooter.

They're playing the '17 Warriors. ZaZa started at center. McGee played some at center. Looney played some at center. When they went small, Dray was at center. There's plenty of opportunity for Ben to man the paint here. And Dray better be hitting hot from the perimeter if he plans on bothering him. Ben didn't defend the perimeter much, that's true. But it he did get drawn out into pick-n-rolls later in his career, and he hedged hard & well. They don't hedge like he did these days.

I keep telling y’all 2 rings validate you in the nba….this is not the NFL. Winning two rings in the nba proves it’s not a fluke. The 80’s Sixers are not looked at the same as the other champions of the 80’s. It’s just facts! N no this is not about jokic….every post I make isn’t a coded shot at jokic…. 04 pistons, 11 mavs, 19 raptors and 08 Celtics will never be looked at the same as the late 2000’s lakers…because they proved it wasn’t a fluke….it validated them…. 2020 lakers and 2016 cavs will never be looked at the same as the heatles…. Steph curry winning that 2 ring by himself meant more than he could ever imagine. It validated him…..I got steph ranked over Larry bird all time. I would have never did that if he didn’t get that 2 ring by himself.
1 ring can make you in the nfl. Aaron Rodgers is a made man….stafford is a made man….. this ain’t the nfl muthafukas… you need 2 or you will be looked down on just like how Draymond looks down @ sheed….. #you can’t sit at this table with us

When you reach the Finals and lose a nail-bighter Game 7 on the road, you've proved that your championship the year before was not a fluke. The '04 Pistons shouldn't be grouped with the other 3 teams.

Sheed is acting like Detroit had size lol. Ben had no offense and Sheed didn't post up much. Prince and Hamilton were skinny.
They wouldn't be able to take advantage of the lack of size on GS unless they did post ups for Billups. I doubt that would work with their weak spacing.

2004 Pistons avg 90 pts. That's nasty work.
Warriors avg 116.

Sheed didn't like to post up much. But he did when things got serious, and he was elite at it. He spent the whole '04 Finals in the post. He'd be posting up GS for sure.

Sheed averaged 13 ppg in the '04 finals shooting 45%. I wouldn't be concerned about Sheed in the post.

Sheed doesn't understand spacing of this era and the effect that Steph can have. That 04 team isn't beating the 15 or (healthy) 16 Warriors, let alone 17 with KD there. They would have gotten worked.

That being said. Pistons win easy. Modern ball players have low skill and low IQ

All retired players think they were better than the current crop of players, and almost always they are wrong as the game keeps advancing, in both technique and in the physical build of the players.
This include Wallace's take. The 2017 Warriors were the 2nd best defensive team in the game. They shut down the best players in the game and gave up the fewest points except for the Spurs. So to classify them as a poor defensive team is just nonsense and should be dismissed in the category of an Old who is misreading the situation.
There is nothing about those Pistons that suggest they could mount a much better offense than the other teams in 2017; in other words, the Warriors shut down teams far more capable of scoring than the 2004 Pistons.
Rasheed Wallace was not an elite offensive player. He weighed 230 lbs, so does Draymond. Green's wingspan is 7'1". Yes Green could stop Wallace. The only thing intriguing to find out is who would get called for more techs.
Trying to watch the Pistons stop the 2017 Warriors would be interesting. I've yet to see a team that moved the ball better. The Wallace brothers were used to guarding the paint in an era when it was about 2 pointers. I very much doubt any of them could guard the perimeter, getting clobbered by screens by Pachulia and Green and the sharpshooters the Warriors had. The Pistons erected an epic D in the 2 pt era.

lets just say the rise of the Warriors occured in a time period where America stopped declaring land war on other countries based on the invasion of privacy, also reduced the killing of foreigners.
once the planet starts repopulate itself after the transexual pandemic is over, highly doubt the brand name Warrior will even stand.

if J.R. Smith can give you 37.3/10.6/2.7/1.6/1.4 in the finals even at .400/.356, the Pistons have a chance.
He'd be a bench player on that Pistons team as a slight upgrade over Lindsey Hunter

You can't be serious. Go look up David Robinson, Shaq, Malone, Anthony Mason, the Davis Brothers, Oakley, Ben Wallace, just off the top of my head. I'd submit there's more jacked players in the 80's/90's than today. There is for sure better sports medicine & better steroids (drugs) today to get big easier, but everyone acting like we moved from the neanderthal to the humanoid in 20 years. Evolution doesn't work that way. Almost every team back then had a big goon who could come off the bench, play some defense, hit an open jumper and give you 6 fouls and grab some boards.

No fvcking chance. No team gets transported in 2015 and undertands how to defend the perimeter. Now if the 04' Pistons were to have 2 seasons including post seasons to get used to these types of teams, sure. But immediately, they get cooked. The 2015 Warriors were probably the best team defensively. The Pistons would slow them down but the Warriors would do the same to them.

Pistons took out a far superior rebounding team than the 15 Warriors, you're saying Prince's long arms won't affect the passing and the dribble drive, and the Wallaces are just going to let you put up those 2's near the basket anytime you want.
the Curry's Warriors were such a hack, people can just copy paste scrips to expose them. they don't have any branding or original recipes, like selling fake brand name merchandise made in Taiwan.

You must be silly. Look, no one is shutting down the Warriors, but GS never saw a defense like this Detroit. They're the ones that'll have to learn & adapt. Go watch some youtube. Forget about the Wallaces. Watch the guards. Watch Prince. Watch Lindsay Hunter & Mike James off the bench. Watch Corliss off the bench. These guys were sticking to fools relentlessly and would switch seemlessly off high picks. Splash brothers are getting theirs to some degree, sure, but they're going to be exhausted.

I've watched them. You're kidding yourself if you think the Warriors will have to adapt more than the other way around. Every single team from the past would be confused if they play teams in the last 10-15 years. Every single team. Bulls, Pistons would be some of the ones that would best deal a team like the Warriors, but these guys would probably watch Steph drop 50 in the first game if they were transported immediately to 2015 basketball.
That's why comparing eras is hard, because you need teams to adapt to new tactics, technology and skill sets when you bring the teams of the past. No matter the perimeter defense, they haven't come close to defending someone like the Splash bros and their combination of shooting and spacing. Anyone that genuenly thinks Pistons would win is either delusional or retarded. Their offense would look prehistoric in a game where even when they slow them down a bit, they would get heavily outscored. Can't just let Steph shoot the team out of the game like they did with Kobe. :lol

I'm not talking exceptions; I'm talking the average player. See a side-by-side picture of players in the 90s and today. Have a look at how strength training has become more advanced and evolved over time; or look at things like percussive therapy.

Warriors lost 2 games to the Irving/Love less Cavs
Pistons lost 1 to a not so healthy Karl Malone
