I remember these stupid rules. People wore masks in the cars when they were alone in the car.

Great for red light tickets.

Yep... it's his fault that kids missed critical in school learning due to his bullshit 6ft distancing and wearing masks.

Plus the audio of him saying that "make people's lives miserable and then you'll see how fast the decide to get vaccinated"

Literally nobody measured out 6 feet of distance between others because they were under the belief it was scientifically proven :oldlol:

That headline is intentionally misleading by Dailymall, which is an absolute trash source known for click baits.

Here's a better characterization of it:

Multiple Republican members questioned Fauci about the CDC's pandemic-era recommendations, like staying six feet apart for social distancing. Fauci acknowledged the precaution had not been studied in trials, and later turned out to be insufficient to stop spread of the virus through the air.

"We had discussions at the White House about that, we did, but this was the CDC's decision and was their decision to make and they made it," Fauci said.

Masks definitely work but they have to be n95. People were wearing cloth masks, which is better than nothing but still not good to use.

I don't know how well social distancing works especially because covid can travel through the air for a short distance. I now doubt that social distancing made a difference because evidence now shows that covid can travel through the air when you cough or w/e. N95 masks are better.

There was no study off the bat when it struck initially. Every agency including NIH was scrambling for answers. This became their early thought process. It's easy to say nonsense in hindsight, but put yourself into march 2020 and think for a moment.

This is just a restaurant owner trying to convince people it's safe to eat at his place. He's trying to make money. And for all you know he was trying to be funny.

this is exactly it, and why this whole hearing is complete BS - just a reason for hot air talking points, which in itself is nuts becuase in the end, Trump awarded Fauci and team some recommendation/aware for their work towards COVID19.

in the end no one knew what to do, or what moves to make, and went with their best educated guesses - as ridiculous as they may seem now. I beleive the latest NIH study indicates 3ft being a good clearance + same hygienic routines

That's not true. Viruses were not a new thing in 2020, and they fully knew that masks didn't work. Including Fauci who stressed that they didn't work, until the agenda called for him to say otherwise. And use simplistic Blade logic that 2 masks are better than 1, and if 2 masks are better than one, then of course 3 masks are better than 2. (Why not just buy 1 thicker mask then?)

Fauci is a pathological liar, almost at the level of Joe Biden, and he should definitely be investigated.

Anyone who dared to question Fauci about his decisions on the virus was demonized. People had no reason NOT to believe what he was saying and deemed savior by many.

Only to find out that he was full of shit about distancing and masks. Thousands of people lost jobs, closed businesses and kids couldn't go to sone colleges without getting vaccinated first.

He needs to be held accountable.

no one said it was a new thing, it has a precedence hence why being named a coronavirus/COVID19

what was new with 19 is how quickly it made its way and how sudden the impact was given its attributes. I disagree in there being no confidence that masks did not work at the time, n95 did and still does and knowing the virus was spread thru airborne droplets, acting on this recommendation isn't a lie or misleading. the 5-6ft indication in hindsight isnt any gotcha on that, I assume whoever said or indicated it was airing on the side of caution given there was no immediate releif available and surmounting death tolls daily.

as for being a liar, the committee has been investigating Fauci for years trying to pin him on something (literally anything) - it's yet to happen because there is nothing there but talking points for shows at night, this 5-6ft post being one. he did his job, gave recommendations based on the available data/studies at the time and since the Fauci bashing began, the followers and committee cant accept that.

ironic mention to Biden as it's no different here - recurring trend in hot talking points about impeachment and so many wrong doings, and nothing avails, just hot air from disgruntled house members hoping for a rhyme or reason wasting peoples time (and money).

there was 190+ countries pretty much with the same premise and viewpoiint as Fauci, many of which doing their own due diligence in studies, etc. what exactly can he be tried for given the whole world was indicating the same notions at the onset?

The 6ft social distancing decision was based on a 1918 influenza outbreak. You think that's the way of going about making a claim that would affect hundreds of thousands of people? Service members getting kicked out for not getting vaccinated. It was basically fear mongering that your health will be in jeopardy if you don't get vaccinated. You can't play with people's lives like that.

if that's true, I havent looked it up, and it is really the only relevant info available at the time, yes that's not a far fetched recommendation to put forth. and IMO the affect of masking is overblown - we have dedicated professionals in them for hours at a time who have no impact, yet it somehow is a complication because it being mandated for all of the population with close counters?

this was another straw man take IMO - servicemembers are mandated to take vaccines (i think it is up to 17 now) if not more given their deployment location, with one of the reasonings being health detriment to yourself or others. yet COVID19 is the stop?? we've never heard vaccinations being an issue for servicemembers like it was for the COVID19 vaccine. it was politicized for talking points at the end of the day.

I kinda understand why he needed to make things as if they're more authoritative than they were. It was chaos, no one knew anything. They needed an authority figure who seem to know stuff. And we got out of Covid relatively unscathed.

the problem was that even the commoners couldn't differentiate the fallacy of "I'm a professional, which is why I can make a first aid kit on the go", over "I'm a professional, which is why I use the first aid kid and needs it."

tired of preparing for failure yet?

if you need Covid to constrain you from interfering with others, it's 100% fatal.

quite certain getting canceled is 100% fatal
