View Full Version : Chris Broussard has become a massive traitor

He's no longer on team MJ and is now a Klutch minion in disguise - he now calls Jordan and Kobe "just scorers" (classic Klutch propaganda).
Broussard also says that guys like Kobe, Kareem, or even Clyde Drexler aren't on the "best sidekick" list because they were 1st options for the "majority" of their careers, but then he puts perennial 1st option and FMVP Wade on the sidekick list and ranks him below Pippen..
This is obviously absurd because in addition to being FMVP in 2006, Wade was considered equal or better than Kobe in 2009 and 2010, while being 1st option over Lebron in the 2011 Playoffs and when Lebron finally got past Boston that year.. So how can Drexler be immune from the sidekick list but not Wade?.. It's absurd and a clear-cut attempt to put Pippen over Wade and therefore Lebron over Jordan.. the clip is here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kayZiJGK0Hc&t=07m08s).
Of course, he makes the classic Lebron fan mistake by assuming that a loss means the player didn't have his "pippen" to save him even though Pippen had horrible stats and was statistically-carried in literally every series... For example, players like Ant need to learn how to carry KAT's 19 ppg, inconsistency and weak mentality just like Jordan carried these things for Pippen.. Pippen averaged 18 ppg during his playoff prime (90-98'), which included many "migraines", mental issues, inconsistency, and worst-ever efficiency.. Pippen had the worst shooting splits ever for a run of 15 games and 35 MPG (here (https://i.ibb.co/qBBHvB1/chrome-d-EXe-R4x-E8t.jpg)), while his true shooting was below league-average for every year of his playoff career except when he had no burden in 89' and his Portland years, or 91' (the only playoff run where he didn't wet the bed in a series).
And back to the "just a scorer" lie - Broussard says that MJ and Kobe were just scorers that didn't control possessions like Luka or Lebron.. This is a misunderstanding of basketball because they were elite ball-dominators that controlled possessions when needed and led their teams in assists for most playoff runs.. However, this ball-dominant, "down-hill" skillset often imposes spot-up roles and isn't 5-man basketball or the best brand of ball... So in addition to ball-dominance, MJ and Kobe used expert jumpshooting skill, touch and footwork to play off-ball in the "possession closer" role - this greater offensive diversity allowed better fits, while also allowing the ball to move so the team could develop great chemistry as needed for a great-performing cast, aka great team/dynasty.

.
2010 Wade....... 28 PER.... 9.2 BPM*
2010 Kobe........ 21 PER.... 4.1 BPM
* 2nd in league across the board in primary advanced boxscore stats (PER, WS/48, BPM, VORP)
Lebron teamed up with the 2nd-best production rate in the league and put 3 of the top franchise players in the conference on 1 team (super-team).
I'd only believe it if there were multiple sources that confirmed it
The evidence is there, specified in the OP.. In the case of the best sidekicks, Broussard's criteria for being on the sidekick list was not being 1st option for the majority of one's career - this would mean Wade shouldn't be on the sidekick list by virtue of being his team's leading scorer from 2005-2010 and 2015 (6 years), versus 5 years of being 2nd leading scorer or worse (2004, 2016-2019)... And the reality is that Wade was easily the 1st option in 2016 and was a star in the playoffs that nearly made the ECF with an injured cast (no Bosh).
Wade was considered a Kobe-level player and most people have him over Drexler, who was excluded from the sidekick list.. This clear-cut "error" downplays Wade, thereby boosting Lebron.

^^^ That's Nick Wright listing the best teams in history as "Kareem/Magic", "Shaq/Kobe", "KD/Curry" and then he names single guys like MJ's Bulls, or Bird's Celtics and Lebron's Heat - so Nick left out Wade from the Lebron/Wade duo, while Broussard put Wade in his "best sidekicks" list that excluded top 1st options like Kobe, Kareem, and even Drexler.. So they're trying to position Wade as a clear-cut #2 like Klay or Pippen are classified - that's their latest objective and I'm sure we'll hear more of this deflating of Wade going forward.
It's sneaky because Wade's prime was so long ago that they're hoping recent fans won't remember that Wade was a 1st option and Kobe-level before joining Lebron and his first couple years with Lebron - he was 1st option in the 2011 Playoffs and then agreed to step back in 2012 but was still top 5 in everything like PER, BPM, VORP, WS/48.. Only in 2013 did Wade's production rates fall from super-elite to pippen-level, aka 20/5/5 and 22 PER... And why should a goat candidate need Kobe-level production from a sidekick anyway, in addition to an 11-time all-star at 3rd option?.. Ultimately, the "decision" was always overkill, so efforts are made to deflate Wade, which boosts Lebron.

It sounds like Broussard is giving too much 'credit' for ball dominance as if it's a good thing. "Controlling the possession" is meaningless and is not necessarily a good thing. A better facet to gauge is how well you facilitate, particularly after you break down the defense or attract a double-team. Doncic only recently is excelling at that, and interestingly, when Kyrie means he will dominate the ball or control the possession less.
I watch First Things First and listen to Odd Couple pretty frequently, I've never heard anytime recently Broussard refer to Jordan or Kobe as "just scorers".
Wade as a sidekick didn't seem to make sense as you said though based on his criteria.
And Broussard is not Klutch, but Nick Wright literally is a Klutch client, which makes it incredible to me that anyone could consider him as objective.

ball dominance is a good thing as long as all moving screens are accounted for.
aka when players are no longer allowed to manipulate gravity by mutilating their own body.

Broussard was always a traitor. For example he presents himself as the pro-Curry guy in their discussions but always backs down when it comes time to really press the case or only joins in the praise after the hard work is done.

congrats, you just got rid of another toxic element in your world. in which that element remains quite neutral in my world.
as for Broussard being neutral in my world has a lot to do with the guy doesn't stink up my place like the uninvited rats. too busy dealing with that to be declaring a two-front war.
still, props to you for standing up for yourself and cutting all ties with traitors.

Broussard flat-out lied - he said the best sidekick list excluded guys that were 1st option for the majority of their careers, but then he includes Wade on the list (a perennial 1st option in his career)
it's a clear-cut lie and attempt to deflate wade to inflate lebron... it's clear as day.

CB only had Jordan as the GOAT because he was scared of nostalgic old losers.
Same thing with Pippen. Pippen spoke the truth when he said LeBron was the best ever and got heat for it, so he had to backtrack a bit. But Pippen is on the LeBron GOAT camp.
Pippen was right.
