It's early days, but wouldn't it be interesting if Porzingis wins the FMVP? Basically slept through the playoffs then swooped in for the top prize. :yaohappy:

those chicken legs look too fragile too me.

wonder if they survive even a Celtics sweep let along 7 game series.

The irony is Porz was traded for Dinwiddie and Spencer was traded Kyrie.

He won't keep the shooting up and neither Brown nor Tatum will let him win it anyways. Brown for racist reasons and Tatum for egocentric reasons.

Just, anyone except for Tatum please. Dude is a great player but overrated af. Anyone else. Please.

And unfortunately Dinwiddie's been a disappointment after the promise he showed in Dallas.

I want Jrue to win it, always been underappreciated.

Yes, he has. Would be ecstatic with a Jrue win but he won't have the offensive output to get it done and the rest of the Celtics are too good defensively for him to stand out enough on that end either.

At this rate, if he wins it’s a media mvp. Brown has been their consistent ‘rock’ throughout the postseason, and if KP plays half this well through the finals he’s easily the best in the entire series.

We’ll always have the Gobert poster.

He might win, he might not.

It’s one half of game 1 so far.

And it’s a very overrated award. It means you were the best player on a team for one series. I mean thats cool but it doesnt give a full picture of anything. It’s a 4-7 game sample size and people use that to define legacies. Makes no sense.

He has what it takes to be FMVP, though. Some people forget that he was #3 in the MVP rankings early in the 2017-2018 season. Healthy Porzingis on a good team is MVP calibre.

Even this season, his stats are not far off from Tatum & Brown. A couple of strong games from Porzingis and a couple of bad games from Tatum and this is a very real possibility.

Anyway, I'll check back around game 3.

It should really be "playoffs MVP", not FMVP. They have somewhat fixed that with conf finals MVP. If you get both the conf finals MVP & FMVP then you're pretty much the playoffs MVP.

Nah, I think bully brown got this one. No way porzingis can win a finals mvp on a mins limit. Not enough time to put up enough stats. Media might even give it to Luka in a losing effort. Just to make up for robbing him of mvp this year

Based on this game it's definitely Brown. Big time two way effort.

They'll call it like they did Kawhi against Lebron. The "Doncic stopper".

Luka already has 30 on nearly 50% shooting, though.

Because he's better than Bron, but lets see the breakdown.

My thinking is they're going to really want to give it to Tatum because Brown got the ECF MVP.

The ECF was the first real instance where they gave it to the guy that had more impact than the guy who had better numbers. Tatum averaged 30/10/6, but Jaylen was more impactful while averaging half the numbers.

I'd say Brown thus far after game 1, but could definitely see KP sneaking out back with it if he comes out every game this way. We'll see who plays well in Dallas.

There’s also going to be adjustments too, maybe the Mavs key in more on Brown, or on KP, and it changes the dynamic of who appears to be Celtics MVP. Derrick White very well could go off for the next few games. Tatum could too altho it looks like hes playing the facilitator more.

And hell Dallas might come back and win the series.

It’s just way too early for Finals MVP expectations.

The problem is as the Mavs key in on players other players open up. Celtics 1-6 is a buzz saw.

Thats exactly right.

The Celtics of all teams dont have an MVP. It’s a lineup full of all star caliber players with a couple perfect fitting role players sprinkled in off the bench, and thats why theyve steamrolled.

If they win the series the FMVP should just go to… the Boston Celtics.

His TS was 53 tonight that's a pretty low efficiency. Four turnovers too. And 1 assist.....this was a mediocre game for Doncic.

Yup.

He got in a rhythm at a couple points but ultimately was forced to try and do too much because nobody else got going. The TS% I dont fault him for, but those couple of strips they got on him just bringing the ball up the court shouldnt happen. Cant be that casual.

Overall, as you said, mediocre by his standards. Which they can sometimes get by on if anyone else has it going. But nobody did.

Bold prediction but Derrick white will have a scorcher like game 4 from Miami and average 20 for series really efficiently. Might be enough to win it if tatum and brown score like 24 on mediocre efficiency

This means nothing. 30 points on 53% TS when you have 1 assist and 4 TOs isn't good. Luka is a lot better than that.

I don't think they'll disrespect Holiday like that...but we won't see an Iggy situation this year...it's going to go to a star.

IF Celtics win the series It's either Tatum or Brown.

This thread will be a major backfire if dallas somehow finds a way to win this series. But honestly, i wouldn't like to see it happen with kyrie there.
