Do we rank the team that actually played in the playoffs, which was mostly without KP? Or do we consider the full squad that was this year's team, including KP?
Clearly they were a very strong team even without him, and made a run through the playoffs and won a championship with him being largely absent from the court. And sure, maybe taking advantage of some pretty favorable matchups throughout the run. At the same time, it was clear in the minutes he did play that when he's on the court they go to a different level. We just didnt get to see that level much because he was hurt.
So like... when youre ranking these Celtics vs other recent title winners, are you using the Celtics on paper and assuming Porzingis is healthy as a hypothetical, or are you thinking about the Boston team as they mostly were throughout these playoffs, without him?
Because I think it actually makes enough of a difference to change you how stack them up against some other teams. It's clear he takes them to a different level of unstoppable, but he's also rarely available. So I'm not sure which version to actually use in a comparison.
