I'm watching Luka dominate in his first Finals and realize that Lebron wet the bed in 2007, 2011, 2013, 2015 (iverson), and carried in 2020....

2012 was nothing special (28 ppg and Wade took a step back with 23 ppg) - again, nothing special or ATG.. 2014 was another bed-wetting of passivity (17 shots per game) and worst-ever leadership..

that was 1 year - Lebron only averaged 28 with great defense in 2012 - his defense in 14' and thereafter was quite atrocious and documented as such frequently.. In 2013, Lebron only averaged 25, which matters because his 16 on 39% thru 3 games caused a 1-2 deficit and this bed-wetting early-on required Allen saving the team late.. Overall, the Heat didn't win with Lebron on the floor in the series by virtue of Lebron's zero plus/minus and negative net rating for the series....

2015 was Iverson-ball... 2016-2018 were fine... 2020 was carried because AD led the team all year and through the WCF vs Jokic, but Lebron simply went "bron-ball" vs a trash East to steal FMVP after getting carried in WCF.... AD still averaged 25+ and carried the defense - arguably still the FMVP just like he was MVP vs Jokic in the WCF

TLDR: 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 - that's it - otherwise he was pretty ordinary for a goat candidate, all the way down to outright horrific (07') or goat choking (11')

2014 - Lebron stunk on both ends and horrific leadership

2015 - Iverson-ball was somehow praised coming from Lebron

2016 - Okay but only Lebron had teammates average 27 ppg in the Finals like 2011, 2016, or 2017 (1-2)

Since Lebron can't carry weak help over top teams or defeat max defensive attention, he needs all-time scoring help like AD, Wade or Kyrie plus HOF scorers at 3rd option...

For Lebron to win as 1st option, he needs 2 perennial all-star teammates (MJ only needed 1), and a sidekick that made finals without him (Pippen never made Finals without MJ) - these are objective demonstrations that Lebron had more help.

^^^ long debunked - a statistical anomaly of Lebron leading each category by 1 point - means literally nothing - it's a footnote in history that he averaged 1 rebound more than Love and 1 point more than Kyrie.

He couldn't CARRY categories, so he couldn't carry the scoring load and therefore needed all-time scoring help and all-star teams, while MJ needed less star help because he could carry the scoring load... Lebron had equal-scoring partners to attract equal defensive attention, so he never defeated max defensive attention (never carried scoring load on championship level).
