Well, this tournament has become a comedy.


Germany/Spain/Portugal/France in the top half, the 4 best teams.

Bottom half meanwhile a pit.

England, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, will fight for the final. 2 of these teams guaranteed in the semis.

Even muggier teams will by default make the quarterfinal.

Spain v Germany feels like the real final but you never know in these tournaments. Luck plays a big factor. Look at Austria. They've looked dominant and then lose to Turkiye. Anything can happen.

I’ve started watching only somewhat recently but VAR kills the game so badly. The best part of soccer is the constant flow of the game and VAR does the exact opposite of that that. A lot of the time the call seems like it’s not even a good one, after they spend 5 mins stopping the game. There are some nice goals and then they do a 5 min VAR review and a part of a guys shirt is barely offsides and it’s called back. It’s bad.


The penalty you were talking about was that handball? I couldn’t hear their explanation because I was on the phone and didn’t have the sound very high but I had no idea how that wasn’t a penalty. I assumed that they were offsides so the handball didn’t count? I don’t know if that’s how it works but that looked like the only way it wasn’t a penalty.

VAR usually doesnt get involved much so I wouldnt say it does much to the flow, its not like refs checking a call in the NBA which is nice. But yea the offside rule is another bonerkill for me too. Ive been wanting it gone for almost 10 years now.

The weird thing is how these guys from the VAR room decide wether the ref actually officiating should look at it.

How do you have VAR and still not get obvious stuff right?

I didnt hear about the offside thing, I hope thats the case so its at least right by the book.

As things stand, this is just an awful way to lose. Disgraceful.

He tried to get his arm out of the way. That's the reasoning in a vacuum, but imo it should have been a penalty if it wasn't for the offside beforehand.

If they would've checked it they would've called OS, but they should've checked at least.
