My first thought was they just don't care about money. But that isn't true. They must just feel strongly about Langdon's vision for the team. But examined in a vacuum firing a coach you only gave one year with 65 mil on his deal when you knew you had a bad roster is stupid.

The Pistons should just be relegated to the G League at this point.

Bad organizations compounding bad decisions.

Reminds me of the people who are living paycheck to paycheck taking out payday loans for the down payment on a 20% interest car loan. :lol

Lmao at any of you idiots who thinks all this money matters or means something.

You are literally living in an inflated money laundering economy.

You think detroit gives a ****. Lmao. They obviously don’t and know something you don’t.

You sound poor

Actually the people who act like money matters are the poor folks.

If you are tripping on what a team spends it literally means you’re a broke ass mofo who has no real perspective on anything.

Detroit Pistons fire a mofo making fifty mill a year like it’s nothing. And idiot message board posters wanna act like they know everything?

Lmao.

No, I can tell you have never been around truly wealthy people and company execs. They do not just piss away money like it doesn't matter.

There is no free lunch here. Yes, they know when to cut their losses, and the owner appears to have been behind this decision given some of the articles, but the money WILL come from somewhere and they wil be thinking about it and reminding people about it.

Owning a sports team is literally pissing money away.

That’s how I know you don’t hang with wealthy people.

So according to you money doesn't matter (even 65 million LOL) but you also claimed that we are living in an inflated money laundering economy...

I think you might be the idiot message board poster here, my friend.

A lot of you guys sound like you’re unaware a coaches salary has nothing to do with the team payroll or its salary cap. It just comes out of the owners pockets. Has no effect on whatever contracts or deals pistons can offer players.

It doesn't matter.

Governors answer to all stakeholders, including minority owners like any organization. The bottom line of all operational costs and the profit measured against those expenses needs to be a high as possible.

I don't think some people understand how finicky and stingy multi millionaires are. The money is ultimately going to come from somewhere and be on everyone's mind.

I promise you this is not going to be pushed under the rug as the cost of doing nba business.

Maybe it's less free t shirts for fans. The AC goes 1 degree higher during all games next season. Long story short it will be taken from somewhere.

I think Detroit pays what it owes still and the new team pays the difference if he is offered more?
Might as well holiday unless you get a lot bigger offer

His wife has breast cancer and it was reported that he made sure a special agreement was in place that Detroit would provide access to a private jet to visit her during the season.

It's unlikely another team would be so accommodating. I expect him to take some time off.

I think another team would be more than accommodating for something like that.
But I don't think that has something to do with the ops topic.

Monty Williams should keep taking bad coaching jobs and always get himself fired
