Here are the voting points for the all-defensive teams.
Bron had 52 out of 60 maximum points and made all-defensive 1st team.
Marc Gasol had 12 out of 60 maximum points and had even LESS POINTS than Iguodala and Larry Summers and Thabo Sefolosha.
Gasol didn't even deserve an all-defensive team.
How did he win DPOY except for narrative bullshit?

From reddit:
Before 2014, DPOY and All-Defensive teams were voted on by two different pools of voters: media for DPOY and coaches for All Defensive team. While Marc is the only DPOY winner to never make All-Defensive 1st Team.
Media ****ing gave Gasol the DPOY meanwhile people that watch the games "coaches" barely even had Gasol as a top defensive player.
Jordan got gifted a DPOY with inflated stats, Bron had one stolen from him.

Where is 200, 100 for PERIMETER defender!
Attention all Bron'sexuals
The defensive RED LINE has been established, invented and perfected for PERIMETER Player in 1987 Itself.
If 1995 PERIMETER Player come up "DPOY Runner-up" after 235, 89 and is a 1995 Steals Champion as well!

He aint half a defensive player as 1995 Scottie Pippen.

Having the media vote on the awards couldn't be dumber
There should be a panel of current and former players, coaches and GM's - a highly-sought-after panel that has media a availability and answers questions about their selections

"The All-Defensive Team is generally composed of ten players in two five-man lineups, a first and a second team. Voting is conducted by a panel of 123 writers and broadcasters. Prior to the 2013–14 NBA season, voting was performed by the NBA head coaches, who were restricted from voting for players on their own team."
Coaches voted for all defensive teams before 2014 and media did DPOY.
Media heads put Gasol DPOY, everyone that knew a damn, coaches, put Bron up there.

We're correcting the Jordan record here.
The 1988 DPOY was potentially fraudulent from inflated score keeper stats.
The 2013 DPOY was definitively fraudulent from zero coaches putting Gasol on 1st defensive team. Barely even made 2nd team.

Same NBA head coaches voted 1993 MJ (1993 Steals leader) over 1993 Hakeem (1993 Blocks leader) as the best defensive player in the NBA!

So, you agree 1993 MJ should've won 1993 DPOY over 1993 Hakeem? Don't NBA head coaches know more about "defense" than media?
If LBJ is missing 1 DPOY award (2013).
MJ could be missing 2 DPOY awards (1987 and 1993)

No
Hakeem had 73 / 98 max points for DPOY voting.
Jordan had 9 / 98
Hakeem was 1st team all defensive too.
Gasol was BARELY 2nd team all defensive. And if Tyson Chandler and Noah didn't split the 1st team C award, Gasol would not even make all defensive team at all.
A true travesty.

I completely destroyed your argument regarding Jordan in 1993 and 1987 in about 15 seconds of computer work.
First go on computer and find out how LBJ in any season can beat 1990 Pippens 200+ 100+ record, then beg for 2013 DPOY award.
2013 LBJ had tons of defensive help in 2013 Wade (PERIMETER) 2013 Bosh (PAINT). Both Wade and Bosh were long wingspan guys.
If 2013 LBJ dont make a solid case with 200+ and 100+ with all that help like 1990 Pippen, He deserves to loose.
2013 LBJ runner up is weak as efff!. compared to Many DPOY Runner Ups in NBA History.
1993 MJ lost to 1993 Hakeem, the greatest defensive player to ever play the game!.
Top 3 defensive players Ever are 1. Hakeem 2. Russell 3. Dennis
All 2013 LBJ had to do was get to 200 and 100 and he FAILED as usual. to get ESPN, Media yelling every SportsCenter, LBJ matches Jordan and Pippen defensively!. with Stats. then comes media votes.
2013 LBJ's 129 and 67 will never get him over 2013 Gasol. who was defensive wall for lowly Grizzlies. no matter how weak it is.
2013 LBJ had Wade's PERIMETER defense as well. Wade was solid, wing defender. with long wingspan.

1993 Bulls:
1st team all defense: Pippen / Jordan
2nd team all defense: Horace Grant
3 elite defensive players in 1993 on 1 team.
2013 Grizzlies:
1st team all defense: Tony Allen
2nd team all defense: Mike Conley + Gasol
3 elite defensive players on 1 team.
2013 Miami:
1st team all defense: LeBron
1 player only
Nobody else from Miami
In fact Wade got 2/60 points for all defensive teams. Bosh wasn't even given 1 point.

Since 1993 MJ had 2 more starters in all Defensive teams, dont you think 1993 MJ was voted against in favor of 1993 Hakeem for 1993 DPOY.
Media said, 1993 MJ has help with that doberman defense Bulls ran.
I still think 1993 MJ did not do his job. which is get to 100+ blocks. Despite 1993 Steals Champ.
same way.
2013 LBJ is in the Weakest of the Weak East Conf. 2013 MIA were guaranteed 2013 NBA finals on good defense alone.
This could be one of the reason Wade or Bosh still in their prime years were not voted defensively even to 3rd team (butler, wall, derozen). Open, weak road to Finals could be the reason.
2013 LBJ had to do extra home work to get that DPOY like get to 250 and 125 against weak East Conf, weak teams. what I'm saying.
When 2013 LBJ stacks the deck against all east teams, He is guaranteed rings. He should not have won the MVP or DPOY as both offense and defense for his talent got too easy thanks to wade and bosh.
He did not it right!. Neither is 2013 LBJ steals leader. Nor back court Blocks leader. Nor a true shut down defender.
He probably just played a very good defense. thats not enough to win DPOY on a LOADED, SUPER team in a very weak East Conf.

Same Bosh got to Danny Green, championship winning 3-pointer and blocked it CLEANLY? maybe Foul? and thew away the ball.

He wasnt terrible defensively at all with Miami. The issue was that he was the big on the team and got stuck with guarding people outside of his size/weight class. When they matched up right he was very good overall, particularly using his length as a help defender.

chris bosh was long and athletic. hibbert was a mismatch because hibbert was an outlier in terms of size. chris bosh still was a good defender though.

That was game over for LBJ's legacy.
Whatever LBJ did at home on game 7 with all that SUPER team he got is great but Bosh with that offensive rebound pass to Ray practically saved LBJs legacy.
BTW, in 2-3-2 format, "road" team gives everything they got for Game 6 to close it out. SAS did that. Just like 1993 Bulls did. 1998 Bulls did.
By Game 7, SAS was finished, spent, energy wise, motivation wise. LBJ played the most relaxed game 7 thanks to Bosh and Ray Allen, game 6 escape.

You šont seem to be operating on how "time" works on this planet for us.
Lebrons 37 point game doesnt exist without Ray and Boshs improbable Super clutch plays at the end of Game 6 when Miami was totally dead in the water.
Lebron was averaging like 23 ppg on below average shooting before Ray's shot. That's a fact. He was underperforming before the momentum from that shot born out of pure random chaos flipped the series.

Things happened between that point and Ray's shot. Didn't Lebron hit a 3 with seconds left too?
Either way, you can't just ignore what the Heat (and Lebron in particular) did throughout an entire 4th quarter comeback in game 6 and claim there was no momentum, and then turn around and say they won an incredibly close-fought game 7 because of momentum. I mean...I guess you CAN ignore it if you want. But we know the truth, don't we?
I know the entire schtick is to not give Lebron any credit for anything but you don't get to blatantly have it both ways.

As far as All-Defensive Team voting goes it was based on positions, so of course he'd have less All-Defensive Team votes than DPOY ones because there were a bunch of great defenders at his position compared to Lebron's, but he absolutely deserved that award based on the impact he had on that side of the court.
Tyson Chandler & Joakim Noah both played just 66 games to Gasol's 80 and their teams won less games and were worse on defense. If anything Gasol got robbed on that All-Defensive team vote.
Also, you have the disparity because coaches voted on All-Defensive Teams & the media voted on DPOY. It's not the same people voting on the two awards. They changed the voting process after that season.

LeBron played 43 minutes a game for the series, and played 45 minutes game 7, and 50 minutes game 6. Don't talk to me about SAS being finished, spent.
Bosh was a 3rd max level player that played like a garbage roll player. 12 ppg and 9 rebounds on 46% in the finals? LeBron saved his legacy.
Instead of paying Bosh that money the Heat could have spread that out to more serviceable players that produced results.
If Bosh didn't play like shit Miami win 2013 in 5 or 6.

There was a little over 5 seconds in the game after Ray hit the shot. Refs had to stop the game and check video to make sure it was a 3pa which gave the Spurs a free timeout to set something up going full court. Parker got off a decent baseline shot at the buzzer.
