Watching this team weasel its way through 3 rounds, playing vs teams missing multiple players broke me. it broke me inside...... I didn't even watch the draft this year for the 1st time since i started really following the NBA. Teams with no superstars aren't suppose to win championships. This isnt suppose to happen. Watching this team win felt like cheating. It would be like being a very close friend of Lance Armstrong and knowing he is on the Juice during his races. You know no one else in the competition really even has a chance. It wouldn't even be fun. Just watching him dominate races vs competitors not on a = playing field. Everyone in the east being hurt....its just bullshit man. They shouldn't have won. The part that really kills me tho, is that everyone is just going to forget the fact that everyone in the East was hurt and they will treat this like a real championship....Just killed all the integrity of basketball for me.

I dont know if im burnt out from basketball or this Celtics win made me fall out of love with basketball.

Dude I would not worry about repeat ... the league is not designed for Lakers and Boston to dominate the league as it did. Tatum sniffs 2 more chips would be a surprise unless he is traded.

 @ OP. Jokic wins a title last year, Boston wins this year and Embiid continues to flop in the playoffs.

Look on the bright side OP, it can't get much worse.

Dudes who deserve rings got them. Porzingis mortgaged his future to ball out. Who knows how he returns. Big Al got a ring. I am glad the Cs won. I just didn't think they were as good as their record indicated. They did get a lot of breaks in the playoffs, but the biggest one was that their opponent was the Mavs.

I wouldn't get too upset about a Celtic Dynasty cuz it ain't happening haha.

Chill, let the Cs enjoy their ring, their all time title lead, and get ready for next year.

This is why we emphasize and talk about "The Gauntlet".

So Dallas had to play 3 series in a row where the odds were either 50/50 or they were underdogs. Boston literally got a total free pass to The Finals an then were still betting favorites.

It's hard to keep hot shooting up for 3 series in a row where it's desperately needed. If PJ doesn't light OKC up? Mavs probably lose in the 2nd round. And then if he doesn't play great in swing games vs the Wolves? Same thing.

It's hard to keep that up for 3 series in a row. The Celtics only needed to really try for 1 series... and it was against a team that had to blow their load just to make The Finals.

This is why we mention the word "guantlet". OP is correct. Even though Boston probably was the best team in the NBA... they didn't really prove it. They had a joke path over other contenders and were served it up on a silver platter.

Point blank.

I unsatisfying playoffs of my life and definitely the one I care the least about. Under normal circumstances, I would make sure I watched every second of every playoff game. I only missed one nationally televised playoff game from some point in the 80s until like two years ago. the whole Celtics run was completely ridiculous. It isn’t their fault but there’s no reason to even turn on a series with a great team playing three straight teams without their best players. They get to the finals and play a team whose third leading scorer from the regular season made one field goal from May 18th to June 14th.

just a garbage playoffs absolutely obliterated by injury and I’m not certain I will remember a single thing that happened in the entire Eastern conference. My Takeaway from these entire playoffs might be the Knicks guardrebounding being really beautiful to watch.

eff lakers, the most garbage franchise in pro sports.

only reason all superstars run to it is because of the warm waters, beaches and hollywood lifestyle.

other than that. it has fake fans and trash culture. Nothing beats NYC in USA.

hope one day, the california fires burns the entire LA down to the ground.

Kind of the same tbh.

Never seen such a run of no resistance.

This Celtics team just aint like that. Tatum is not that dude.

Picture perfect would have been Mavs pulling out that game 3 and winning in 7.

They lost both games vs Dallas when Leonard played. It's easy to say that when a healthy Clippers team is something we'll never see but at no point in their history have they been on par with a 64-win team.

Both were drafted with picks they got from the Nets I believe... for near retirement KG and Pierce...

I hope the Knicks didn't just repeat that shit but their core is 27 years old not 35

No what the Knicks did is different. It's like the Gobert trade to me but a little better. I don't think Bridges is worth 5 first round picks but it gets the Knicks a little closer to the Celtics and although the picks could have gotten better returns in a trade down the line or maybe the Knicks get a steal normally picks outside the lottery don't do much for a 50 win team. I'm guessing the Knicks were in a bidding war and did what they had to do.

Always love Ainge. In the process of getting the Jay's he somehow managed to **** over both the Nets and the Sixers. That's one of the greatest trades of all time. Grousbeck should retire his jersey.

These playoffs were very bad, esp the Eastern conference, but imo no playoff run will ever surpass 2017 as the worst.

Warriors go undefeated through the West, and just when it looks like the Spurs could give them a challenge, Kawhi gets hurt.

Cavs go 12-1 through the East, their toughest opponent being the IT Celtics.

And while obviously a star studded affair, the Warriors win the Finals pretty decisively.

At least the conference semis had a few good series this year, and Knicks/Philly was exciting for a first rounder.
