I was texting my cousin and during one of my texts I stopped midsentence and put wow. I saw enough; didn’t watch the whole thing, but what a terrible performance. Trump didn’t attack him for it too much. “I dunno what he said at the end of the sentence, and I don’t think he does, either.”

I tuned in to see how bad it was, and it’s simple: this guy has no shot at the presidency in his current state. Gaffe tapes are misleading, but this was bad from the start. His look when trump was talking, him looking down (to take a note?) which made him look like he was asleep. I also wanted to see if Trump had lost it. He’s definitely not like he was in 2016 and I’d prefer someone younger, but he sounded competent at least. This wasn’t a debate as much as it was a competency test and one person failed.
