By that logic, Jordan's numbers in 87' on a bad roster and bad defense make him DPOY over Cooper quite easily especially given how much he destroys Cooper in every the defensive number

Not in 87'... Jordan's home stocks show little or no inflation in 87' and he got the same stocks in 87' that he got in 88' - the 87' numbers validate the 88' numbers... 88' was just a one-off of massive home inflation, which everyone has at some point in their careers such as 120% and 73% inflation for Lebron's blocks in his first 2 seasons, or stocks being inflated by 50-80% for 88' Jordan, 90' Hakeem or 22' AD or 23' Jaren Jackson Jr... These are one-offs due to any number of reasons, such as personal issues affecting home and road performance for that particular year, while the normal inflation seen in every other year has been decreasing over time as road records and conditions continually improve.. So the point is that there are much better reasons than league-wide cheating by scorekeepers to explain normal home inflation and the one-offs of massive inflation, smh

I cannot imagine how Magic and Kareem marketed "off the bench" 1987 Cooper to the LA Media and West Media for all that 1987 DPOY Vote!

Cooper probably wanted to "start" but Magic, Kareem, Riley and Buss calming him down saying how they can get him 1987 DPOY over that offensive "showboat" called MJ at Chicago.

I can just imagine, Buss saying "eff that 3000, 200, 100 BS." lets make his DPOY vote irrelevant. And 1987 Magic will squeeze by 1987 MJ at MVP vote.

You put 1986-1990 MJ in Laker line up, He will have 3 MVPs matching Bird and Magic and 2 DPOY matching Moncrief. Thats how off the charts MJ was.

If 1987 cooper has the worst DPOY in the history of NBA, MJ deserves atleast 2. and Pippen deserves atleast 1.
