So they wanted Austin, Rui and D'Lo from LA but when we didn't relent, they settle for Dyson daniels and Larry Nance? :biggums:

Guess this means Trae young is staying put.

Does it?
Anyway nice move for New Orleans. I didnt really like the idea of pairing Murray and Young as centerpieces, but he should fit better in a triumvirate with Zion and Ingraham.
I dont see Atlanta's impetus for keeping Trae, except just to remain quasi-relevant due to his name factor? He's not really a 1A IMO (but could be a great 1b), and they dont have a very clear avenue to obtain a 1A unless they tank this season and get in the top three of next year's draft - in which case that potential 1A would need some time regardless. So I really dont see what theyre doing if theyre trying to move forward with Trae. There's no moves they can make that will put them into contention.
Just send him and Bogey to the Lakers for Reaves, Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, picks, cash, and DLo's expirer.

Higher than 50% Ingram gets traded

Ingram has the physical tools needed to be a good defender. If he gave a high effort in that end Pelicans could be top 4 out west.

Heist.
Hate to see the Pelicans lose Nance though. They need some frontcourt players badly as JV is gone and Nance is now too.

This feels like a steal considering what the Hawks gave up to initially get him.

It's not as bad as it looks depending on how we do over the next few years. If we draft out of the lottery it's a pretty fair trade compared to what we gave up to get him.
the 2023 charolette 1st is pretty much 2 2nd's at this point
our 25 1st = the lakers 25 1st. Either team could be good or bad thats up to us to make that pick about even or better lol.
the 26 pick swap
The 27 1st i think will probably be a worse pick as i feel the Pels and Bucks should do well still then. Hopefully the hawks can get in their league by then so that the picks stay about same value but who knows. For now i'll say we lose a better pick here in 27 for a worse one.
Then you add in daniels and Lance
So pretty much depending on how well we do over the next few years compared to the picks we are getting back.
We gave up 2 2nd's (charolettes 1st), a 26 pick swap, for 2 years of Murray, Daniels, and Nance.

He can but health is the main problem. They've had great success on both ends of the floor with BI & Zion both healthy, but it always falls apart.

If he's out there then he should be playing hard. If he's healthy enough to play then play defense. If a guy can run to a spot for a jumper or for a fast break then he can run to keep up with his man.

The Hawks roster as it currently stands is bad. They were barely a play in team last year and just lost their second best player. There is a real possibility that it's a top 7 pick pre lottery and who knows what happened during the draw. Could be top 5, top 3 or 1st.
Spurs own your draft for the next 3 years. Tough times for you guys.

Just because a player is good doesn't mean he fits well with your team and can actually make it worse. Trae and Murray are 2 very talented player but the team got worse when paired together. The team before murray got here wasn't as talented as murray was while here but they were better. A scheme fit and 2 ball dominant guards that are small and struggle on defense was letting teams eat us alive. Where as again the players might not be as talented as murray right now if the fit is much better and the defense is better overall then the team can improve at multiple positions.
I actually much like the team and fit better now than before the murray trade as i have always said a long, tall defensive team built around trae that are offball players. Is exactly what you need to make trae work best and so far thats exactly what Snyder has done.
Also if you remember after Trae went down last year and murray was the starting PG the team without Nance Daniels, and Risacher + whatever FA moves we make went .500 and was a playin team wins/loses wise for more than month. So to say they still can't be a playin team with a similar record with a few more players added in and a #1 pick over last years roster without trae really doesn't make sense.
PG - Trae
SG - Risacher
SF - Hunter
PF - Jalen johnson
C - Capela
Depth - Bogi, Daniels, Okongwu, Nance without even going into FA yet is not a bottom tier team thats atleast a playin team we are still talented at multiple positions with good players and probably are now a better scheme fitting team with FA to improve.

I disagree. When your second and third best players are Hunter and Capela, that's not good whatsoever.
I didn't say they would be the worst team, but if they end up 11th just missing the play in that puts them at around #7 in the lottery which has decent odds to move up in the draft order. It's likely the east will have 5 of the 7 worst team records in the league. Possibly 6 of 7 if the Spurs take a step forward. Hawks got a shitty roster, no other way around it.

How is it a crappy roster when it's literally the exact same roster as last year pretty much outside of murray and just better depth now. How can everyone complain about murray being on the team and it making our team worse because of the fit. Then turn right around and say the team is worse when he is gone if they thought he was a problem from the get go lol.
Also Hunter and Capela are not the 2nd and 3rd best players on the team. Those are literally 2 of the guys we are trying to remove from the team because their not that great for us. Our 2nd best player is easily Jalen Johnson and i would have taken him over Murray as well this year. I feel as the team sits right now we are about the same as we was last year and i'll even go a step farther and say if Jalen johnson continues taking that next step and gets more touches we will be better. JJ imo when all is said and done will be the star of this team over Trae.
