The Golden State Warriors are waiving Chris Paul, league sources confirmed Sunday. The point guard had a $30 million non-guaranteed deal for 2024-25 with the Warriors and a Friday deadline for that deal to become fully guaranteed.
Paul, 39, ranked 16th in The Athletic’s John Hollinger’s latest NBA free agency rankings.

He could still be a contributor, but he's pretty washed when you consider what he used to be. Should have retired in 2022.

I think he will go to the Lakers for veterans minimum as backup pg.

Yuck, officially a Spur.
Hopefully a respectable year like he had for OKC and at least we know he will go out ringless.

Im sure this is just for trade purposes, theyll nab a pick or two when they move him at the deadline. Similar to Valanciunus to the Wizards.
Theyll both end up Lakers eventually :pimp:
Remember guys. This is the man who chef gerbil got as a replacement to the young jordan poole. :ohwell:

Why do you turn everything into a negative?

I'm not writing him off just yet. He could have an OKC/PHX-like resurgence playing with Wemby-san. Assuming health.
Don't forget Stephon Castle too!

Not to that level, no way. He's 39.

It's unlikely but I'm not writing it off. Wouldn't be surprised if things go really well. Synergy/chemistry is a big thing. He may very well lead the league in assists playing with Wemby. And get some easy shots off his gravity. Will be protected on defense with Vic and Castle.
We have to remember prospects of Wemby's caliber improve exponentially. He could be a legitimate MVP candidate next season as crazy as that sounds. An extra 10-15 pounds, more time in the gym, and an improved roster. Anything's possible...

He’ll barely play half the season, washed af..
More of a mentor type I guess, although he’s a career loser and whiny flopper so probably don’t want to teach those traits to the young studs

I will never root for the piece of garbage. The best outcome is an OKC type season where I can at the very least watch him and not despise what I'm seeing.

You got no choice, bub. You're a CP3 fan now. Go Spurs go!

You said what?:biggums: I mean, he could have a great season (which I highly doubt, tbh) but being in the MVP conversation is a different thing altogether.

I'm not the only one to suggest it online. So much of Wemby's game right now is hindered by a lack of body weight and strength. He's going to take exponential leaps in performance in his first few seasons. And with CP3, an improved roster, and how he was playing toward the end of his rookie season?
Anything's possible. 24-28 ppg, 11-13 rpg, 4-6 apg, 1.0-1.5 spg, 3.5-4.0 bpg on 60-63% TS is realistic. He did 22.4 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.2 spg, 3.9 bpg on 58% TS in only 29.5 minutes per game over his last 52 games playing at center.
I guess the question is how many wins does San Antonio need for Victor to be an MVP candidate with those numbers?

I misunderstood your sentence, my bad. I thought you were talking about CP3 being the MVP lol If you were referring to Wembayama, yeah, he could take a big leap and become a superstar already.
