I like Harris game his main knock was he was overpaid and sixers picked him over Butler. But the Pistons main issue is they have too many wings and guards who can't shoot consistency.

Pistons have money they have to spend. They aren't going anywhere anyway. It's only 2 years - that's the important thing.

Not the fact that he disappeared? Or the fact he’s useless if the ball isn’t in his hand. Meaning he has to create his own buckets. He can’t spot up, catch and shoot etc

Well I guess they're going to need a new scapegoat for when Philly inevitably once again fail to reach the WCF this year

Paul George just signed on for that role.

It amazes me how bad teams overpay guys who wont even make them more money than what they're paid. You could put me on the pistons. And they'd sell no more tickets or make more revenue than they do with Harris. I seriously dont get it.

Idk seeing you start a fight with a black player and then getting knocked out for being racist would be worth the price of admission.

Exactly.

Teams are required to spend at least 90% of the cap in player salary. So a tanking team like Detroit will hand a short, kind of big (but really big, Hartenstein got a bigger deal) to an average starter level player like Harris to meet that floor and field a team that is at least NBA caliber.

Looked it up and they have a ton of salary. Nevermind.

Yea but wouldn't you pay to see me start an unnecessary brawl and get floored by a professional athlete?
Even with a cheap shot or two I'd probably get wrecked. And it would draw more viewers than the average 2025 Pistons game.

I dislike you but wouldn't pay money to see you get hit. I don't care enough to be going that far.

unless I’m missing something they were 35-40 million below the salary floor. Did they sign someone else first?

I skimmed the following:

I am guessing that the cap hold stuff isn't that important to keep them from making deals but figured it means something?

Tobias when playing for the Bucks I saw a budding star. His game took a dive because of the 6ers surround everything around their center.
He typically is a 20,10,5 guy , and I expect same numbers to return with Pistons.

You may find a season or two where he had a career year be it numbers, % etc but overall Tobias has always played the same. His game here didn’t mesh because he was asked to be a 3rd option which involved you spotting up, catch and shooting, playing off other stars. Tobias is someone who has to create his own offense and when the offense isn’t geared towards him? He gets the ball in situations where he has to catch and shoot. Whereas his game is dribble to his spot (middy) and pull up. No coincidence he thrived on bad teams.

When guys like MPJ are making $38M, unfortunately it means Tobias has to get around $26M. Slight overpay.
