View Full Version : Since I’m already in Vegas…should I go to the summer league?

It’s only 45 bucks a day. I’d have to stay like an extra week but I have virtually unlimited comp days in half these casinos. Might need to cover the proceedings for ISH. Jeff might be out here somewhere too.

Summer league seems boring compared to the old days vets would show up and destroy it for laughs but I’m sure something interesting could come of it. I bet Laker games will be a headache to attend though.

Oh and highway I’m likely going through Phoenix on my way back whenever that is. Unless I go up to San Jose after Disneyland(not my priority but I’m not alone). If I come that way I’ll let you know in advance. I went through Louisville, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Denver on the way here so I barely touched Arizona.

Eff it, if you've never been check the box. I'd like to see your commentary on it.

This is one of the rare times I will be paying attention to summer league. Bilal, Sarr, Carrington and George hopefully playing, 4 first round picks in the last two years.

Really interested to watch Carrington. His J off the dribble is nasty. He just needs to get better making catch and shoot 3s and attacking the rim.

If Bronny's playing you must stay.

45 bucks is pretty cheap. Definitely worth it.

That's like a cheeseburger out there.

I missed it on my roadtrip 2 years ago by 3 days. Absolutely you should go

I know the basics of poker but not enough to be in competition. I barely play at the casinos outside the cash machine 10 dollars a spin for the **** of it. I just racked up wild reward points because people with me gamble and use my card plus I use it when I eat. And all the prices are jacked up out here so it rises quick. Might go to Peter Luger tonight in fact.

I used to watch them but it’s been a while. I used to have Kwame Browns summer games on tape. And I remember a few people on here saying Lebron wouldn’t last 3 seasons because of his broken jumper on the summer league.

I know there is little stock to be placed in it but it couldn’t hurt. I just know the laker game will be a hassle if Bronny plays.

Indeed. They throw fees on everything. It’s 50 dollars for a pool chair and they nickel and dime it up to 70 bucks.

I can only complain so much since I’ve stayed free in 5 of them this trip across the country…but still.

Apparently Memphis and LA play back to back on the same day and the 45 dollars gets you all games from the whole day. You can see up to 8 in a day though some seem to overlap.

I was just there last week. If you can spend over 150 try sparrow and wolf off strip, one of best meals I’ve had

I wish our meals were 150. I’m generally at Berns in Tampa, papi steak Miami, Nick and Sam’s in Dallas and so on spending 400-700 dollars because this woman developed a taste for Wagyu. I’ll put it in the list.

Momofuku’s is legit

Same with Jaleo at the cosmo

I saw on espn app Fever playing Aces tomorrow night. I would maybe go for a joke. Bring a little airplane pillow in case it gets really bad and you can take a little nap and be ready for the rest of the night

Black pepper honey pork at sparrow and wolf looks amazing. I’ll put it towards the top of the list.

And I’ve never been to Momofuku. A number of high end Asian spots have let me down. Komodo in Miami is Instagram beautiful but the food wasn’t special. But Hakkasan is one of my favorite restaurants in America so I’m open to the idea.

We weren’t all too excited about it but one of our friends who’s a chef was insisting on going there. Everything on the menu was incredibly good. Have to get the pork buns though. and 80 dollars for a bowl of ramen seems a little excessive but I’ve never had ramen like that before or since

You might be surprised how little you use the full package as opposed to buying single games - better to pick the games and players you want to see

Kblaze8855

You just made me mad at myself because I’m reminded of an incredible roast duck ramen I had somewhere and I can’t remember where I was. I’ve been in 3 corners of the country the last few months and I’m going to the 4th in a couple weeks and it all gets lost.

I usually note such things but I forgot. Thats gonna piss me off.

I didn’t get that unfortunately. Lamb chops definitely better than the kalbi

I went back in 2021. It was a good time. Ran into a bunch of NBA players there.
