Probably their biggest asset is growth. Their young guys are gonna get better. And these additions will solidify their movement. This is a team that is calculating their strategy for next season. Potentially the Celtics of the west? Let’s see how far they go this time.

I think the team is too good for SGA to have a shot at MVP. Jimmy Butler is on his contract year so if Miami makes it to the 1/2 seed in the east he'll get it. Luka has been in the mix for years and it's likely time for him to win it. Also if the Timberwolves are contenders again I can see the media giving Ant an early MVP.
Also hate to say but I really like the team fit with the Lakers and Reeves stepping up and elevating the team with Knecht. If the Lakers make the top four seeds in the west...we could see the oldest MVP in Lebron. This would erase the previous oldest MVP...Karl Malone.

Jimmy Butler could play 82 games and Miami still isn't getting the top seed. And he's more likely to play 50 to 60 because he always misses 20 games. Miami will have a worse record than Milwaukee, Philly, New York, and Indiana. And I wouldn't be shocked if Orlando also does better. They will be lucky to avoid the play-in.
Lebron james will set a record for the oldest player who has insane fans that think he's the MVP. A record he already holds.

This sounds like some clueless take. :oldlol:
When was the last time a non-international was given the league mvp award? Doncic has a good chance to win it if he meets the usual expectations.

SGA's surrounding cast is no better than Ant's in Minnesota. SGA is to his team what Joker is to Denver. His cast is better, but the team is still going nowhere without him.

End of the day the MVP is a media award that goes to the story not the best player. The media gave Tatum FMVP votes over Holiday the guy that should have won the FMVP.
Giannis sat out the playoffs so he's blacklisted.
Jokic has three with one ring so he's capped
Embiid won't be healthy to quality because his cliff is coming
Celtics have a fab five
The media is going to do one of two things gravitate to a young star (Ant, Doncic, Zion, Wemby) or this is a legacy year (Durant, Lebron, Butler)
But also we're kinda erasing Karl Malone from history the same thing they did with Rick Barry. You can't take away his two MVP's but the oldest MVP ever he could lose it.

Should be a strong candidate but his flaws were put on display in the finals. If he doesn't come back on better shape and play consistent defense some voters are going to hold that against him.

They can only hold certain things against players for so long. I think Durant got 3 scoring titles before they finally gave him the MVP. The Media is filled with whores...Luka has now made the NBA and conference finals so a second scoring title should be enough.
They can't give Jokers a fourth MVP and they won't give Giannis and Embiid a second one after missing the post season.

Prime Durant had no flaw to compare to Doncic's defense. In fact for a lot of guys trying to score on his length was impossible. In the finals everyone saw how beneficial it is to make Doncic work defensively all game long. If next season he can still get worn out like that and scored on so easily it takes away from his mvp candidacy. This isn't just some narrative, this is voters seeing the games that Dallas is cost because his defense is bad and how smarter better teams wear him out so that he's not as good at the end of the game. He can fix a lot of that by improving his conditioning. If he does not then some other great offensive player that doesn't have such an exploitable flaw will be MVP.
