As I understand it, this is a really bad slovenian team, so Luka really shouldn't be in the business of qualifying and playing in the Olympics.

Can't fault the patriotism.
And unlike America where we might have 10 guys that could get 30 in an international game any given year Doncic is the only elite player his country has ever produced by the standards of NBA talent. If America ever produced a top 5 soccer player in the world imagine the pressure we would put on that guy to play.

Yeah, I do like Luka wanting to represent his team, particularly now that Dragic brothers are gone.

It's interesting to see that Luka is basically playing exactly the same game in FIBA now as in NBA. Same with Giannis, except he doesn't travel in FIBA.

It is so unfortunate that Luka's Slovenia will have to face Giannis's Greece in semi-final instead of final. That loss to Croatia stings.

Meanwhile, in Spain, the final probably will be Spain vs Bahamas (Ayton, Hield, Eric Gordon).

In Puerto Rico, PR vs Mexico in semi-final should be fun to watch. Lithuania should beat Italy and eventually wins the group, still.

In Latvia, the Philippines is somehow in the semi-final probably to job to Brazil. But I wouldn't mind upsets as they have proven by beating the host Latvia.
