Philly just got Caleb Martin and apparently in order to get him they had to waive Paul Reed. Maybe I'm overrating him but averaging 7 points and 6 boards on 54% from the field and 37% from three, he is probably better than your team's back up center. I would never have thought his value so low that he's the kind of guy you cut for a little more cap space but here we are. If no one can offer him a long contract he could do a lot worse than taking the minimum from the Celtics and replacing Porzingis for the first few months of the season...I would have thought he could get more than that but I never would have expected him to get cut for Caleb Martin to begin with.

In a related note, given Embiid's struggles to stay healthy him having a back up that's good enough to play a part time starting role is very important. I think Philly ****ed up here.

The size of his contract was always contentious when they signed him.

I love Bball and sad to see him leave but he is undersized and Nurse won't play him with Embiid so it limits his role. Morey has a hard on for Drummond apparently plus it looks like they have high hopes for the rookie Bona so i guess that was what sealed it. Bball is way more playable in the playoffs than Drummond tho.

Martin will be more important to the team going forward now. Great addition to the team. Bball's contract was unfortunately what they needed to get him.
