France's basketball team in the 2024 Olympics has Wemby and Rudy Gobert.

I know many people don't like Gobert but the two of them next to each other seem like an incredible defensive force.

Do those two alone make France the favorites not including the USA?

Definitely #2 behind the US.
Wemby and Rudy with no defensive 3sec are going to be extremely hard to score against

This is some kind of newsworthy accomplishment?

How many French Timberwolves have there been?

They're not much of a threat to USA. Their guard play is so far below Canada and USA that it's too great a mountain to climb.

If they had 30 year old Tony Parker I would feel much differently.
