View Full Version : George Clooney comes to his senses, says they need new candidate
Hey Yo

I’m a lifelong Democrat; I make no apologies for that. I’m proud of what my party represents and what it stands for. As part of my participation in the democratic process and in support of my chosen candidate, I have led some of the biggest fund-raisers in my party’s history. Barack Obama in 2012. Hillary Clinton in 2016. Joe Biden in 2020. Last month I co-hosted the single largest fund-raiser supporting any Democratic candidate ever, for President Biden’s re-election. I say all of this only to express how much I believe in this process and how profound I think this moment is.
I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced.
But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.
Was he tired? Yes. A cold? Maybe. But our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we just saw. We’re all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign. The George Stephanopoulos interview only reinforced what we saw the week before. As Democrats, we collectively hold our breath or turn down the volume whenever we see the president, who we respect, walk off Air Force One or walk back to a mic to answer an unscripted question.

Nothing shocking here, this is the thoughts of every Dem voter. Still going to vote Biden if that is who is on the ballot because there is no Project 2025 with Biden, even a completely brain dead Biden.
The problem with replacing Biden now though is that no one other than Michelle Obama is polling better than Joe Biden. And she isn't interested in politics. Many Americans just know him as the President and aren't tuned into reality. Only 65% of the country knows who the Vice President is. So Joe Biden has more pull than other names simply because people don't know other names.
And that explains why Michelle polls so well against Trump. People know the name "Obama" and associate that with Barack.

In fairness to Clooney, he's rich enough to not care that Medicare has been soundly defeated.

Do you guys understand why we vote for Trump yet? haha.
It should be becoming clear. It might be a false choice, anyway, but I want it noted that I reject this bullshit. I am not mad at people who say "well whatever," but I do wonder how they are judging 'us,' for exercising our right to at least make our displeasure known.
Edit: also I think this project 2025 shit is hysteria just like THEY TAKING OUR STOVES haha.

You would rather have a senile man with poor memory holding the nuclear codes than Trump who has disavowed Project 2025. Why don't you read the 2024 Republican Party Platform to see what Trump stands for? I do think they should have de-emphasized the plan to deport illegal aliens (like move it from #2 to #20) and add reducing the debt.

Trump is lying when he said he disavowed Project 2025.
What kind of sucker would still believe him after all his lies?

Biden aide suggests that the president has more stamina than George Clooney: report
The Biden campaign reportedly hit back at George Clooney's devastating op-ed on Wednesday by suggesting that the president had more energy than the actor.
Speaking to CNN's Jake Tapper, Tausche said that a campaign official who had been at the same fundraiser told her that "George Clooney left three hours before the president."
"Clearly the gloves are off," she added.
Asked to clarify what that was meant to convey, Tausche gave her interpretation: "The point of that is to suggest that Biden's stamina is better than Clooney's, and Clooney didn't have eyes on the entire event," she said.

if clooney really left this event 3 hours before biden, that says a lot more about the quality of the event than it does clooneys energy levels

Democrat donors just put 90 million on hold if biden is not replaced from the ticket. That's a lot of money. I expect money to speak louder than anything. I will be shocked if biden is on the ticket for the next debate. It's looking unlikely to me. Too many democrats have turned on him.

Something is happening. If he stays, he will have trouble winning simply because of the pressure. If his own side is saying he can’t, he’s done.
This regime we call democrats, that has been supporting a senile old man as president for four years, is very calculated. I don’t believe biden has the power to resist and if he makes it through, it was all for show. No idea why they’d want Trump in again, but that’s the only thing I can think of. Hard to believe people are that inept.
Shit keeps getting weirder. I’d suggest everyone on either side take everything in stride cuz regardless, we are getting kinda played. Hard to argue.

The only reason why biden won is because a significant majority of the country hates Trump. On that alone, I expect anyone even a little bit lucid and intelligent to take down Trump. Democrats/biden have to think bigger and force biden off the ticket. I think Newsom would run circles around Trump on the debate stand.
