Both had 1 championship, only Barry got it Hakeem style while West got it 2008 Paul Pierce style.

West was a superior defender & a better leader. Barry was hated by everyone including his teammates.

Honestly, when you get out of the top 10 it becomes a coin toss regarding the next two tiers. There is really not that much of a gap between those who are usually ranked 15-35. Many times those players could easily be switched around.

West was a far more efficient scorer, better defender and had a personality more conducive to winning.

Overall West was a far superior player to Barry.

This.

West was a truly defining player of his era and Barry wasn't. It's really that simple, even if the actual performance on the court on any given evening could be interchangeable.

Jerry might only have the 1 ring but he made the finals 9 times in a 14 season career. You can also say he's the most well-rounded player in NBA history so I have him near the top ten.

Barry is underrated but a lot of that was because he was a terrible teammate

Overall West was a far superior player to Barry.

Then how come he didn't win any more championships than Rick despite playing with far more help? Doesn't add up.

Alot of Jordan's teammates hated him and he's the GOAT. Assholes can win too apparently.

It genuinely seems like you can't grasp the concept that when guys play ATG ball and lose, it's because they were facing superior competition. Barry ain't winning shit in West's place against Boston.

Barkley didn't win more than Chauncey Billups despite playing with far more help.

But their career legacies usually take a hit. Another example is Kareem who should be unanimous top 3-4 but he isn't. MJ was hated by a lot of people but he was not just the best but also most exciting player in the league. And he also knew how to turn on the charm for the cameras which further boosted his marketing/popularity.

These things do define your legacies because no one's going to go out of their way to bring your name up and your pop culture impact is lessened. Over time you fade faster than you should.

And vice versa West ain't winning shit with rookie Jamal Wilkes and Butch Beard as his 2nd and 3rd options.

And nah I don't believe that. You give Barry Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor and he's threat to win. That's just nonsense to say it's impossible.

Check West's numbers in those Finals against Boston, no chance Barry is playing any better. Dude averaged 37 ppg in one series and still lost :lol

Because he faced Russell's Celtics.

Rick didn't make the playoffs alot. That's probably what holds him back. Warriors only made it 5 times in his career. Went to the Finals three times tho.
