He wouldn't be in the league - Lebron has a Bronny handle except he's 6'8" - amazing for a 6'8" guy

People say that today's era is better but I strongly feel like Larry Jordan would beat the breaks off Bronny

I really think that previous eras were just as athletic but today's player gets to travel, which allows more athletic plays such as this gather-step dunk from the Ben Wilson era in Chicago - it was called a travel but we know this is just standard gather-step today.

Nothing but it's interesting how Lebron has a Bronny handle, which is amazing at 6'8" - his son shows what Lebron would be if he was 6'1"

What would Bird be if he were 6'1?

We wouldn't know his name besides those who went to his college where he played at. He wouldn't have been an NBA player.

None of it matters. Basketball is a sport about physical attributes when it comes to the goats. LeBron's size speed combo, Kareem at 7'2 being as gracefully athletic as he was, Shaq the best athlete I've ever seen in the NBA. List goes on and on. If you weren't a great athlete you had goat level height for your position (Magic and Bird) at the time.

Saying Lebron at 6'1 would have been Bronny is just being a dumbass who misses the point. Wemby has top 10 goat potential because guess what.... Wait for it... He has unique physical gifts that others do not. Wow.

A mod must be controlling OPs account. His posts over the last 4 months have been worse than ever, and that is saying a lot.

OP is trying to troll, but it backfires, because one could easily say "well by looking at MJ's sons, if MJ was 6'2, then he wouldn't even be in the NBA". So this means a shorter MJ is worse than a shorter Lebron :lol

To be fair, Larry Jordan was like 5'8 or less.

He was a midget. A very athletic midget but still diminutive nonetheless.

It's amazing how much bigger Michael was than his older brother. Never seen a size discrepancy like that between siblings.

Bronny is 6'3. He's not a tiny dude.

Yes however MJ said that the 5'9" LJ used to beat him until he got to like 6'3" - or something like that is what I remember in the come fly with me videos or another one of the old ones.. We know they used to fight a lot in the back yard and the games were fierce - the battles with Larry is where MJ got his competitiveness from.

He probably would still be a Stockton or Nash level player at that size, just too good too smart and too skilled

Didn’t have near the quickness or handle of Stockton and Nash.

I think about the worst you could make a normal sized Larry Bird is Mark Jackson with a much better jumper.

Pretty sure he would have adjusted his handles playing primarily as a point guard. Bird in a 6'1" body would obviously be faster and quicker and even if you give him just average athleticism for that size he would still be insanely good because of the aforementioned smarts and skills

I think he did have the handle especially on the break where he pushed it just about as good as they did despite being 6'9"

I don’t think that adjusting someone’s game or quickness based on making a person smaller was part of OPs consideration.

Why, that a late second round pick probably won’t be a rotation player for you? Damn must suck.

The league is forcing this Brownie kid down our throats simply because of who his father is. The kid is a scrub. I can't tell you how many times I see ESPN coverage on him on TV or on online. Reed Sheppard smoked his ass yesterday.

Smaller Lebron is like, Eric Bledsoe.

Bronny James has no feel, absolutely no guard skills.
I think he'll grow into his frame a bit but he'll halfway out of the league by then.

His best case scenario, is Gary Payton II. But GP2 was actually more athletic than his dad and had footspeed Bronny will never ever get close to. GP2 was the best guard defender probably of the 2020's so far. He was Tony Allen good until he got injured. And a monster on cuts to the rim, as a finisher in general, as a rebounder, and even rim protector...All at 6'1.5" or whatever the ****.

Bronny stinks, and it genuinely annoys me. He doesn't seem to be an NBA player at all.

We all knew Bronny would be bad but he’s a total scrub. I keep hearing “what do you expect from a 55 draft pick?”. He’s not even a 55 pick. He’s a painfully mediocre undrafted college player who’s now a painfully mediocre summer league player.

Never in the history of basketball has there been so much attention on a such an untalented player. LeBron is a selfish bad father for exposing him like this. It’s his fault, not Bronny’s.

It's the distraction of Bronny that's the issue here.. Yeah teams waste/give away late 2nd round picks all the time but they don't give them guaranteed contracts and make them a sideshow when they're supposedly still trying to compete for a championship.

It's not good for the locker room and it's not good for us Laker fans online either. People are already giving me shit about Bronny's SL games, it's only gonna get worse when they force him out there in the RS and he stinks. I really hope Bronny actually turns out to be a solid role guy at a minimum so we don't look like idiots for drafting him and giving him a contract.

Thanasis Antetokuonmpo is an NBA champion. Giving your star player an extra roster spot for an undeserving family member isn't a crippling blow. The rest of the team are all professionals that want to be young millionaires in LA. The real extent of the problem is just the waste of a roster spot and a little cap space. Now it does suck that he's so clearly not going to make that team better but the Lakers have bigger problems than a single wasted roster spot.

ImKobe
07-14-2024, 11:04 AM
Kind of a different situation here. For one, Thanasis spent years in the D-League and in the Euros before he ever got a chance to play with his brother, and his brother was (and still is) arguably the best player in the league. You can afford to do that when everything else is in place and the team's fighting for a championship.

If they are going all out to do whatever it takes to win a championship they would need the space he's occupying but they're just trying to make headlines and money. Bronny is on ESPN more than anyone in Team USA so mission accomplished. Antetokunmpo having played some in Europe doesn't matter when the very little he has gotten to play clearly proves the Bucks only keep him to keep his brother happy. Teams don't normally keep a guy for 5 years that's over 30 who they don't play .

What I notice from the clips I see from Summer League is how little dog Bronny has in his game, how lazy his game seems.

He's playing like his dad, except he isn't 37 and he isn't an athletic freak. He doesn't hustle, doesn't run like the devil was chasing him, doesn't pass as if he was a scrub trying to make it with his teammates.

Rich kid game.

In other words, he doesn't seem to have some real passion in playing the sport of basketball or so it seems. Wouldn't blame him tho but the way he's being propped up in the media despite his legendary dad is kinda ridiculous.

However…does he need to yell the whole time? It’s fvcking grating.

His dad really needs to teach him how to do a pocket pass off pick n rolls, that's like one of LeBron's bread and butter plays, Bronny seems to not be able to do it at all (at 6:05 of the video).

I mean by this logic we would have to compare MJs shorter kids vs himself who weren't nearly as good. So Jordan was coasting off insane physical gifts just like Lebron and many athletes.
