Kris Middleton had surgery done on both ankles

Bucks star Khris Middleton has undergone arthroscopic surgeries on both ankles this offseason, sources tell me and @eric_nehm. He is expected to be ready for the start of next season.

Not sure what to make of this news. No one has surgery for fun, he missed 27 games and has been struggling to stay on the floor for years now. But he had some good games in the playoffs statistically. With the Bucks injured stars he had a chance to play a bigger role and he responded, even getting a 42 point game. So I'm guessing that the surgery was more like maintenance than emergency, and if the Bucks can be lucky with health for the first time since seemingly forever this might just be the second-best team in the East. They were definitely worse than they looked on paper last season even when healthy but you look at a team with a good closer in Middleton, one of the most clutch shooters in the game in Lillaird and then a perennial MVP candidate in the paint and you figure they really should be a lot better. Yes, Holiday was a huge loss but losing him should be something that makes a difference in the Conference Finals, not something that drops them to 15 games out of first.
