48 inches would put his head 6 inches above the rim on his best jump. I would say he probably had about a 43-44 inch vert at the most which is still elite. Guys like Nate Robinson and Spud Webb might get close to 45 inches vert but i don't think anybody in NBA history were at that 50 inch vert mark.
